What I understand you're saying is that, due to given circumstances, it's not that bad of an idea to give teachers guns. They would have to go through strict screening etc. But I think what that's the wrong approach. Obviously there are responsible gun owners and all that, but I believe that there has to be a drastic change in gun laws, so that giving teacher guns to defend themselves and their students against possible attackers will become totally unneccessary. Even Trump seems to be lobbying for change, whether it be what people want and what America needs, it is a signal for further change to come. You have to be out of your right mind to shoot at anyone with or without the intent to harm them. I have hunted dear recreationally for my entire life (following all current hunting and gun owning regulations mind you) and sincerely enjoy it as a hobby; it's peaceful but exhilarating at the same time when you finally hone down the deer you've been tracking for weeks, months. Never ONCE have I even let the idea of shooting whoever else is around cross my mind. That is the correct state of mind, not whatever this teacher was succumbing to. Arming teachers isn't a bad idea and should not be considered one after the action of one teacher who clearly didn't belong in a school anyway, with or without a gun. Teachers would need to go through more extensive training and would need extra medical, physical, and capability screening before owning a gun and being able to bring it onto school grounds. This just proves that the screening for guns and those who can own/ possess them needs to be increased and furthered. I live in a rural area, at one point not that long ago people depended on hunting to survive before the railroad made its way here. That revolutionized everything but it’s still a recreational hobby. It comes into season every year from November-January. Please send your hatred and mockery in another direction. America has being dealing with a question of guns at schools that have problems with violence for decades, black schools. They put in metal detectors and hire security or bring in police. Why are we turning high schools into First Person Shooters. They should be 1984. I think there is a sensitivity surrounding white kids being treated like criminals and it may be blocking our vision where safety is concerned. Why are we acting like guns in schools is a new thing?
