MillionMarkys 350 Posted February 11, 2018 Share Posted February 11, 2018 The Cure is still that song to me, and it both surprises and hurts me to see people dismiss it as "generic" or a "bad song." Since release day (Easter day 2017 - never forget) I have listened to it almost every day, and most times one cannot simply only listen to it once. The opening "whale sounds" get stuck in your head from the first listen, and while some may say they're like any modern song, YOU ARE WRONG. It isn't just a series of noises, the melody is STUNNING. This is evident in piano covers. The pre-chorus vocals are heavenly. They are so soothing and sometimes I listen to them when I cannot sleep. The chorus is amazing, and the lyrics are gorgeous. When I went through a particularly bad patch with my mental health I would listen to the song a lot and imagine Gaga wrote it to me. But my favourite part of the song has to be the outro. UGH. 3:03 onwards. The "whoahs" and the "yeahs." This has to be the most gorgeous ending of a song ever. And its my ringtone. The Cure is like DWUW's less-problematic sister. It is a gorgeous song - classy, sexy and meaningful. It showcases Gaga's vocals perfectly, and the way Gaga performed it at the JWT. Gaga releases The Cure, one of her most radio friendly songs ever - LMs: OMG This is so generic, I want more experimental Gaga. It is truly one of her best singles.
