ItsTommyBitch 12,640
People need to make up their minds. If it's not a big deal, why are some people upset that he tried to correct her? Why does it make you cringe? Cause you don't like change, you think its inaccurate? What? Please tell me, cause I don't understand. This harms no one and is only more inclusive. There's a reason why its being majorly covered by conservative, regressive, and even alt-right news sources and not elsewhere. It's not a big ****ing deal People are quite ironically looking for things to be offended over. Why is this "too far"? It's barely anything. Besides, its not like we don't know that the way we use language affects the way we perceive and react to things. It's not like this kind of change does nothing. Spoiler I will say however that - although it doesn't matter - peoplekind sounds clunky in comparison to humankind 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Batwings 12,957
Was a little excessive? Yeah, but with everything going on the world right now, especially with world leaders just blathering whatever inane crap is going through their head, regardless of how it sounds or what kinds of prejudice it reinforces, I think seeing something like this is rather nice. PartySick 172,545
English has always been a masculine language...if that makes sense...our default pronouns are he/him/his when speaking about someone of an unspecified gender (using they caught on fairly recently) and that extends to works like "mankind" so while it may be rooted in male dominance from the time where English formed, it's not necessarily meant to put women down. Not that I'm against using "peoplekind", I just think it's a bit trivial tbh. Why not just use "humanity"? "Peoplekind" is such a strange word But hey, I envy Canada. Their leader gets headlines for being "too progressive" and we all know what we're sitting with in the U.S. Whimsical bitch
ALGAYDO 35,135
Am I the only one happy that he did this?? It’s a trival thing compared to the other issues facing feminism, but this was low key kinda cool. Like, every little detail matters in my opinion. Just my 2 cents

JustinTrudeau 2,419
Yo, what's up? Peoplekind needs a reminder to be inclusive. I fell down the stairs once as an actor.
