Do you guys think that Kesha did her best in the performance? I love kesha and i was there for the new album, but I thought that her performance was not her A-Game. What do you guys think?

This was the only video I could find due to copyright issues.

her vocals were pretty bad but it's completely understandable cuz she was SUPER emotional. this is definitely her best praying performance

I loved it cuz it was so emotional, raw and pasionate, she was feeling every ****ing word, that was powerful, idc about her vocals tbh, she delivered

She doesn't breathe through properly when she sings, she gets all this tension in her throat and it's a mess. She needs lessons.

It wasn't good. But it didn't need to be, it'd be praised no matter what.

She was pressed that a song sexualizing women won over her #timesup masterpiece so she decided to say f*** the Grammys and perform it bad

On the one hand, Kesha is not a good live singer. Her technique is always really off. I love her music, but as a live performer she really does need to loosen up and get better control of her breath.

BUT, this performance in particular didn't need good vocals. This performance was her taking her power back from Dr. Luke in front of the industry that allowed him to abuse her. It wasn't about singing well, it was about making sure her message was heard on one of music's biggest nights. I know we're used to Gaga-level vocals, always slaying, but I really didn't see Kesha's performance as being about the song itself at all. I saw it as her finally being able to share her pain after being literally silenced for years, and in front of every major music exec and producer that most likely knows and has worked with (and will continue to work with) Dr. Luke. This was a statement, not a song performance.
