Well, I just watched the Turn Up the Radio video and it was nice at best. The Girl Gone Wild video was FAR better. Looks-wise Madonna looks great and I LOVE the make-up and hair and outfit. No complaints there. The song itself is probably my least favorite on the record, after Superstar. I can honestly say that I hope to dear God that Madonna never works with Martin Solveig and focuses on working with William Orbit because it's pretty clear that the best songs on MDNA were produced by him and his productions are innovative and polished and suit each song perfectly. With more modern production technology, imagine what they can do together. Love Spent is fantastic. Benny and Ale Benassi are just basic dance music producers that can be easily replaced. So, in other words, the only producer on MDNA that is worth keeping in William Orbit and for all the right reasons.

But the most flawless thing about MDNA was it's cover:

LOVE it.

Also, am I the only one that like Gimme All Your Luvin'? I always liked it a lot. I feel like the only one that can bop to it easily at any time.

It DOES speak volumes when MTV isn't even on her side. I'm a little shocked. I mean, they have playfully hit at her with sarcasm and eye rolls but never as in this recent article.

I can't imagine that she'd be too hurt though, she has shown that she has a steel backbone. I could see her moving further in the back and supporting her daughter in starting a career. I think Madonna is kind of over being this pop music icon, after this tour. She'll just live out her legacy as a celebrity doing other things.

As much as I love Madonna's music, I think she's reached the point in her career when the spark that she once had has long ago burned out, tbh. She can no longer top herself and, judging by the way the MDNA era has done so far, there are no more surprises left and radio certainly isn't going to support Madonna anytime soon and with album sales steadily declining every year and illegal downloading becoming more popular everyday well, What can I say? Hell, if I wanted to be completely straight forward, I would say that it's time for Madonna to finish the MDNA Tour, retire, and raise her children. It honestly saddens me to say this because I myself stan for someone (Britney) who also seems to have lost her spark and has no more surprises left.

GMAYL is still one of my favorites, not sure how much that says for the album. :laughga:

I will certainly agree that the MDNA cover art is flawless as well as the photoshoot. Very iconic in its look. Except the bra and black knee high boots pics, too rhiannaesque. :laughga:

I think the singles of MDNA have been very fluffy but many of the album tracks are more serious and thoughtful imo, moreso than COADF. "Falling Free", "Love Spent", "Gang Bang", "Best Friend", "I ****ed Up," even "I Don't Give A". They're about the divorce.

rs from now we'll be like "ugh, why can't she make statements again like the MDNA tour?"

Oh PLEASE. Come on, I know you're a diehard, but NO WAY is that even remotely true.

I Don't Give A is EMOTIONAL and serious? "Here's all the stuff I have. I rule. I don't need a husband, I'm the QUEEN."

I will give the album Falling Free, Love Spent, I F*cked Up, and MAYBE Beautiful Killer, but come on. Stack some of the TRULY terrible songs on this album (Some Girls, Superstar, TUTR, IDGA, BDS, GMAYL) next to songs like Sorry, Jump, Let It Will Be, Forbidden Love, How High, Like It Or Not, and Future Lovers. No, no. COADF was GENUINELY deep. MDNA wants to be deep, but it doesn't know how and fails to go beyond the deepness of any 20-something run of the mill pop star.

Sorry, Jump and Future Lovers are in no way introspective or deep I'm sorry lol.

And what's wrong with Some Girls? :crossed:

IDGA isn't deep but it's the most explicit she's been in a decade. "I tried to be your wife, diminished myself / I tried to become all that you expected of me, and if I was a failure I don't give a ****"?

You mean aside from the fact that she's autotuned to death or the fact that the song consists of such "classic" lyrics as "Some girls got an attitude, fake tits and a nasty mood" delivered in a monotone? Or how about the BRILLIANT chorus "Some girls are not like me" delivered in a voice that is unrecognizable and nails-on-a-chalkboard grating?

So by being explicit, that makes daring and introspective? If I wrote a song about an ex-lover saying "I did everything for you, you ****ed me over, I don't need you"....that's all it takes to make a good song?

I'm in the wrong business then.

I think it's meant to show the depths of the relationship/divorce. She's sad, angry, and happy. So while "I Don't Give A" and "Gang Bang" are more explicit, "**** you" songs to Guy, "Love Spent" is her breaking down and admitting part of her still wants him and "Falling Free" is too.

Gang Bang is fun, but I see it more as an exhibitionist sort of song rather than something meaningful and deep. IDGA just loses all emotional impact with her wanna-be gangsta style and Nicki's "I'm a tough b---h" rap.

But I can definitely agree with you on LS and FF. Those are actually songs I can listen to and enjoy.

Ok good. I'm sorry for being dramatic but it's been really hard to enjoy Madonna at all lately with all this **** going on.

I know she brings a lot of it on. And it's always fun to be all "what a brave bytch" afterwards but it's not fun at the time. haha

Why does what other people think affect your enjoyment? This is something I just don't understand.

When people were criticizing Gaga last year left and right, I didn't let it diminish my loving the Born This Way album. To me, it was good, so I just said **** 'em all, I love it and that's all that matters.

It's not really other people's opinions or media headlines because they've always been there -- but the scrutiny that actually affects Madonna. In the past month: Marine Le Pen is suing her. YouTube banned her video. Russia's threatening to arrest her. Mothers Against Guns are protesting her show. Her school in Malawi flopped. The Olympia. Like it seems like she can't do anything right.

Madonna's a big girl though. She can handle it. She wouldn't have lasted 30 years in the business if she couldn't.

Don't worry so much about her would be my advice. There are so many other things to think about in life.
