Liz Rosenburg is the biggest mess

I'm sure it won't be a problem. Madge's ego would NOT be presenting a small theatre as the dvd. :lmao: She gettin' a huge stadium.

This is literally how I feel in a nutshell:

I totally agreed with this too. And although I love Gaga, this piece particularly resonated with me.

"I don't even want to fight back," she said, instead of not fighting back. "You could never invalidate the power of "Born This Way..." Things are really different now than they were 25 years ago, and that's what makes "Born This Way" so relevant for me, is that I really want you all to notice this tremendous place that we're in right now. We're just socially in a completely different place and it's okay, we don't all have to slice and hate each other anymore."

The takeaway here is supposed to be that Madonna isn't the victim for having a signature tune lifted by someone who refuses to acknowledge the obvious similarities; Lady Gaga is for having suffered the embarrassment of being called out on it.

I think an intimate venue DVD would be awesome. Beyonce did that for her album 4, since she didn't go on tour for it.

It'd also be cool if she did what Beyonce did last era: a tour DVD for the main show, and then a DVD for a series of stripped-down concerts she did in Las Vegas during the tour.

Does anyone know if she's playing her whole set? The only parts I really care about are Candy Shop/Erotica and the BTW part of Express Yourself.

I cried when she sang "That's Why You're Beautiful". Such an amazing song, and when she swung her dress back between verses... waterworks.

What the hell happened to pretentious stadium recordings of her tours? I am really pissed off by this.

I went through the slideshow where the first picture came from and the blood spatter one is really cool.

Unfortunately the author totally ignores the whopping number of plagiarism lawsuits Madge has against her and the fact that SHE was one of the original reference regurgitating artists. Calling out Gaga for copying Madonna, and then saying that Gaga fans are way out of line for calling out Minaj for copying Gaga, is stupid. As is the not-so-subtle jab at her using the word retarded or - gasp - charging money for concert tickets. Despite the fact that Madonna has money out the ass and still charges more than Gaga. By their logic Madonna must absolutely HATE her fans.

They're absolutely right about the Twitter bullying though, but that's entirely a reflection on the fanbase, not Gaga herself.

Madonna hasn't plagiarized. Anyone can file a lawsuit. There's a difference between homage and plagiarism, and the one case that was won, in Hungary was for a song I'm sure you've not heard, because it sounds nothing like Frozen.

As for her appropriation of Marilyn Monroe's looks, here's what Madonna herself has said about it.

“A lot of people saw Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland as persecuted and tragic and vulnerable, and I think a lot of gay men feel that way because of their particular predicament in society. I’m playing with her image and turning it around.†- Madonna

And I find that to be true. She took Monroe iconography and imbued it with strength a new spin and not for one second did you forget the subject was Madonna.

Latest interview for Chilean press. Once again, she is asked about Gaga @2:25... as far as I am able to understand that from my rusty Spanish skills the journalist asks: "How does it feel when everybody compares you to Lady Gaga?" But judging by her response, the interviewer must be addressing a certain comment...

This interview was taped before the interview for Brazilian press. Now I understand why she joked about the Gaga thing in the second interview.

It's not ageism is Madonna's lyrics, looks, and attitude no longer speaks to her 35-55 year old fans, or they resent her trying so hard to be "down with the kidz." If she handled herself better she'd get a better break from a media that is, after all, more her generation than Gaga's.

But many commentators see "Mother Monster" as more mature than the "Material Girl."

Madonna is in a very precarious position. She could NEVER please everybody. So she doesn't.
