Kesha doesn't deserve the Grammys like many here are saying. Gaga does. People want her to win mostly because it would be a feel good moment after all the she went through. Now if you say her album is good, I would agree. But it definitely is not better than Gaga in terms of anything. For the most part, Gaga's Joanne and MR have better vocals, better lyrics, and a more creative production. Let's also not forget that Gaga sort of set the inspiration with both sound and themes for artists like Kesha,  Miley, and others. These artists might have done something similar to Joanne before Joanne, but Joanne set the compete current tone of stripped back, personal, organic, country, folk, rock, mixture. Critics also boosted their reviews towards Raibow because she was able to come back strong after it looked like she was gone. On the other hand Joanne was set back a bit by critics simply because of their personal opinions towards her career. This is a case were the student that always gets A' s is not celebrated, but as soon as an F student gets something like a B, he gets far more praised than the A student.

Gaga gets one. Kesha gets one. Let's end it there.

Also, for the record; Beyonce had folk/country/americana on Lemonade before pop girls made it a thing.

Insert no lies detected gif.

While Rainbow is a decent album I think some of the songwritings sound more like some random YouTube singer’s first original project.

however I still want Kesha to win one of the awards purely because that would be a huge FU moment to Dr Luke.

I agree as far as vocals go Kesha should be nowhere near getting those awards. There's a difference between having vocals and just plain yelling. Praying is a great song nonetheless.

Joanne deserves best pop vocal album

Praying deserves best pop solo performance.

Yall hype up rainbow too much like it’s good but nothing special at all and the vocals aren’t as good as they are on Joanne

We're all sitting here arguing about this meanwhile the most likely outcome is that Ed Shitran is probably going to sweep both awards anyway...

Ok I'm sorry , I'm one of the more sophisticated commenters on GGD ever since 2013 but I will rip this post apart.

Let's start with the title "Kesha doesn't deserve a Grammy" is a petty title/opinion for the following reasons

1-As a Gaga fan on a Gaga site, you will undoubtedly have bias in some shape or form which gives little to no value to your very own subjectivity

2-You could easily express your opinion/title in a more refined manner cause all it spells out is "Bitter" over something that didn't even happen yet. You could have easily titled it "Gaga deserves to win both her nominations".

3-If you even were aware of the Grammys, you would know that there is no consistency or pattern that they follow when it comes to awarding thus "who deserves it or not" will not factor in. Many artists are worthy, that is why they have nominations. You can not expect one album or one song to be superior to all others just because it got a Grammy or just because you think so. A Grammy is a nod of appreciation rather than the song or album being superior to anyone elses. After all the Grammy comity does not represent the choice of the world.

Let's address that you think she should not win because it would "be a feel good moment after all she went through"

1-It is not like she's being nominated cause the Grammys felt sorry for her lmfao. You yourself are aware that the album is good. The Grammy comity are cut throat when it comes to nominations, you seriously think they'll think twice. If they do award her, it won't be cause of her personal life but cause the music is good.

2-Winning because of what she went through is an added bonus and not the primary reason why she should win. It would be a glory story that shall inspire millions but hey let's overlook that since no one cares about being inspired I guess lol.

"Gaga's Joanne and MR have better vocals , better lyrics, and a more creative production"

1-Bias all over

2-Praying has a wider vocal range than MR btw and better lyrics in my opinion and I'm a Gaga stan

3-More creative production ? Sis it's mostly guitar based not some instrument from the year 3000

 "Gaga sort of set...."

1-Gaga set nothing, Joanne sounds like many Country Pop albums lol (production and tone wise)

2-Yet many Gaga fans get pressed when People say Madonna set the tone for Gaga

"Critics also boosted their reviews towards Rainbow"

1-Did they tell you that personally over tea while reading rumor threads on GGD ?

2-Don't take this from Kesha just cause you don't appreciate her musical genius as much as others

From my point of view and I'm basing it only on the music that I enjoyed more

Praying deserves the award over MR = Praying is vocally more impressive and is lyrically more appealing, to me at least. Besides Gaga has 6 Grammys, Kesha has none and I think Praying is the highlight of her Career. Gaga's highlight was Bad Romance.

Joanne deserves the album award over Rainbow = Both are Great albums, Joanne is just more cohesive lyrically and sonically. Legit that is the only reason I believe it should win over Rainbow. If both can win, hell yea why not. I don't need to minimize an artist to make a point that another artist is superior.

You wouldn't like it if a Kesha fan made a similar thread like this about Gaga not deserving the award. Have a nice day Sir.
