JT says artists go to Vegas to retire

I feel like he is very concerned about perception, yet has no self-awareness at all - which is a recipe for backlash.

Anyhow, Bruno, Gaga, Diplo, Zedd etc. all have residencies, so his view is quickly becoming outdated.

We all said this at some point, but as an artist, it's really unprofessional for JT to say that. And this is coming from a huge JT fan.

By saying that you're insulting artists like Britney Spears, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion, and now Lady Gaga. These are some of the biggest legends in the industry.

And no they're not retiring, Gaga secured a $100 million deal for her residency.

Are you kidding me?

It's Justin Timberlake. He could post it today and all shows probably be sold out in an hour. What did he say that was not historically wrong? You guys need to pick your battles people were just upset at Gaga for going to Vegas saying it ruin her career and what not... the majority of artist do good to Vegas for that reason.

No one is interested in Britney anymore her last two albums flopped horribly and if she did a worldwide tour for Glory it would have flopped. I bought Glory and I am a fan of both... and just because you're a fan doesn't mean you have to be delusional. No artist in their right mind goes to Vegas to release two albums, in their 20s, or 30s to be successful.

At Vegas, you will only be singing your greatest hits. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

If Gaga continues with the barely promoted eras without only two eras, then goes to Vegas for too long. I'm afraid she may soon fade. Vegas is not a way to start a new path in your career. It is a place where people to retire.

Name all of the artists who came away from Vegas with songs that stayed in the top 20 consistently for more than three weeks, platinum songs, and a platinum album. They have all disappeared after that... it's unfortunate but true. I don't think will be Gaga.

He's speaking about 99% of artist everything doesn't surround Gaga. My gawd.

It’s sad that Timberlake is doing the Super Bowl purely to promote his new album. It really is. He’s so afraid of flopping.

Yes, that's what artist do to make sure their product doesn't flop. They do something called pro-mo-tion. Awesome. I think everyone should use it and does as great as he does with each and every album for three decades now and 23 years in the game (longer if you count the Mickey Mouse club.) But yet... he's still hungry.

not with his ugly wrinkly face that looks like it belongs in retirement home.

nobody would want to see Justina timberflop in Vegas anyway. he needs to stop using his ex girlfriend for attention just so he can shift a few copies of his latest flop attempt at staying relevant

Doesn't he have some failing singles to promote?

But didn't he have one of the best selling singles just last year with CSTF? It's easy to dismiss someone based on one irrelevant comment, especially when the comment may be potentially hurtful bc a) Gaga is going to do a Vegas residency and b) he's kinda right to *some* extent.

And yet while your post is not 100% correct, it's still better than the first response in this thread that I quoted above. I'm shocked that many people liked the first response and that few liked your post.
