Seeka 12,372
I am currently obsessed with Danganronpa. Though I've always been obsessed with it. With four (if you include Ultra Despair Girls) and one original anime that covers the events after the second/third game and the events before the first, Danganronpa tells the story of the students of Hope's Peak Academy, and the Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic event that has fallen over mankind, which has incurred worldwide despair. The students, captured and inflicted with amnesia, must fend for their lives in trials, tortured by the black and white bear known as Monokuma. Students of HPA are branded by their talents, known as Ultimate or Super High School (or Super Duper, if you've played the Zetsubouo translation) and have been scouted by talent officers working for their school. I adore Danganronpa. I've played every main game and currently am playing Despair Girls. It is one of my favorite game series ever and I plan on getting all the extra content soon. Many people seem to like V3 so i want to jump on the train too Every game is related to one another and spoils each other. Though, you can play them all without learning about exactly what the "Most tragic, despair inducing event in the history of mankind" is, which is only revealed in the anime. V3 is special as it canon status in relation to the first three games is up for question, but it does ruin the events of the first two games if you play it without playing the first two games. Ultra Despair Girls ruins the events of the first game and is a sequel to the first game and a prequel to the second. However, due to its different gameplay, it's may be difficult for these who are expecting just the gameplay of the first and second games. It's events, while important, can be ignored until after you play the second or even third game. It's story is rather segregated for the first and second games. I set V3 in a different realm than the first three games. Like V3 takes place on real Earth and not in the Danganronpa canon. It's still enjoyable and I honesty do think it was created like this because the anime kind of wrapped up the HPA arc, though I haven't watched it. But I think V3 is meant to set up a new universe, a new place to continue this story. Also I think it's meant to be different since it's Truth vs Lies. Not Hope vs Despair. I also like how, I think they're heading towards the original Distrust concept, and Id like to see that happen.
