Wig 5
If you asked me when Pop 2 was first released, I would've said N1A without a doubt. Pop 2 has truly gotten better with every listen and now it's my second favorite release by her (after True Romance of course).
AlexanderMagno 10,746
I've just listened to both songs and I'm so damn impressed. I really can't get enough. I first listened to Charli XCX when she released Nuclear Seasons (actually, I think I remember the fuss around !Franchesckaar! back then and listening to it, but it was so long ago and I wasn't that impressed). She was interesting, but I was never really a fan. Then I saw her becoming really famous with Boom Clap and a few collabs. I didn't like Sucker so I never really had anything to say about her. But Number 1 Angel and Pop 2 really are pop gems. Incredibly catchy, but incredibly heavy (something I truly love) and I just love it. Charli XCX and A. G. Cook are some of the best collabs I've seen in years and I hope they continue to do music together for a very, very long time. Between the two... Really hard to say. Number 1 Angel is something you really want to hear over and over and over again. But Pop 2 definitely has the most refined songs. And Track 10 basically slays every song she has done. These two albums are everything ARTPOP was supposed to be. Two acts, one easier to listen to, the other more experimental. One mostly about Charli, the other a collection of different collabs. Both are about doing music without any preconceptions or goals other than doing some crazy good music. Charli might never be a big pop star, but I hope she continues to released these mixtapes (also proving that you don't need high budget whatever to simply make GREAT pop music).
