TheWitness 3,630 Posted December 22, 2017 Share Posted December 22, 2017 So as you all know Katy just released the video for her song “Hey Hey Hey” In The Video katy cosplays as Marie Antoinette and Joan of Arc It looks goofy but deep down it could have a deeper meaning I also think it links to Kesha The main point in this is the prince she’s on a date with , when he’s very touchy feely and asks if she’s “DTF” So he’s about to pull a move on Katy that she didn’t consent to and reacts in front of people (ala Kesha) The prince then orders for her to be killed (like doctor Luke wanted Kesha’s career dead) Katy seems to be dead but then she is revived in a RAINBOW outfit and rainbow katy kills the prince (like how Kesha came back with rainbow and killed Dr Lukes reputation) Host Of Lyricasism Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I felt more like it was Katy was going back to her default of kooky comedy, after the more serious stuff of Witness wasn’t eaten up, and it’s just her take on humour (which I don’t enjoy). I definitely could've done without the cringy memes, but the empowering message of the song and video is just so good that I can overlook the cringe. Also the costuming is excellent!
