Christina Aguilera - Taking too long between albums, not making hit material, giving too much focus on The Voice, film roles and ads than music. I also think her rumoured nasty personality finally burnt her last bridges as well.

Katy Perry - By cutting her hair into an unattractive style, getting too political when she was just a fun popstar before, taking too long to make a follow-up to Prism, trying to claim her music was saying more than it actually was, making cringey music videos.

Azealia Banks - By bashing Gaga to start with...then becoming homophobic...and racist...and all round nasty.

Rita Ora - She's technically still getting recent hits but I doubt they're going to sell her album. She's still widely considered a nobody after failing to release a follow-up to her 2012 debut due to breaking up with the guy who penned most of the album and never coming to the right decisions with record labels ever since. Another one for whom everything else (ads, movie roles, presenting, etc) takes precedence over the actual music.

Nelly Furtado - For rarely releasing albums after Loose (which was her commercial peak) and not promoting them.

Chris Brown - By beating up Rihanna and being an all-round jerk ever since. He also rarely promotes his music.

Nelly Furtado by releasing Loose, yall blame the time but if she woudl kept doing the alt/folk music she did the first 2 albums she wouldn have lost her hard core fandom, the GP and pop stans were expecting several Loose's and she tried to went back to alt which she didnt well and the time, she deserved it, stopped staning her with that hideous album

Okay, thanks for the explanation. Now itย kinda makes sense, I understandย what Madge was going for. But she's definitely right about people not getting it and I'm very glad she didn't do that.ย

It's not just about people not getting it. I think that regardless of what she was going for, it's not really understandable because you can't just do things ignoring their meaning and context. Like you can't wear symbols of persecution and reclaim them when you're not even the affected group.ย

Amy Winehouse. It's one of those artists that had the potential to keep releasing great music but some of her choices in life led her to death and that's something that can't be undone. I know Katy, Christina and all of these have taken "Risky" moves in terms of their music but they can always come back.
