This is full of hypocrites. They want a female artist to succeed, but only if it's Gaga. I don't know why peiple hate on Taylor when both Gaga and Taylor are great friends.

They hate on Taylor because they hate her music, or they think she's petty. These are pretty valid reasons imo

No. But I think she is the embodiment of a starbucks cup in human form.

Well, by definition, music is an art form, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's artistic. :emma:

ARTPOP's concept was very clear. It was about combining artistic conception with pop music (though I personally think she wanted to go down a more experimental route with the music itself but was unable to for reasons).

To compare any of Taylor Swift's albums with ARTPOP would be a joke. :toofunny: Taylor just sings about boys and living in the 1980s. At least Gaga has always had concept.

Right...It was mainly about sex...and being a performer...nothing that artistic struck me there at all. Born thsi wat was by far more superior (experimental/artistry wise)

How does she sell so much if everyone hates her?! How does she tour stadiums?

I think ARTPOP was more about visuals than music, personally. Gaga was more into performance art at that point, and I almost feel like she was forced to promote it.

That's not to say the music was meaningless, though. Do your research and you'll find a lot of conception within the songs.

Born This Way was definitely more experimental, but ARTPOP was a turning point for her. A reminder to us all that she values her creative worth over sales and mainstream relevance, a goal all singers should strive for if they want to become as legendary.

Hmm She completely changed genres? A couple times already. And not just for one era by wearing a hat and a crop top. Gaga us the same at the tour as she was. Taylor went from country and got grammy for that effort. To freaking glossy over the top high notch production pop (glossier than gagas)

Taylor was already country pop for a long time, the genre change was nowhere as sudden as Gagas. Also reputation has bad production imo, very generic and recycled, NOT glossy.

I'm sorry, but that's not risktaking. She literally went from the safest genre in the US  to the safest genre in the world, so she appeals to everyone with her catchy pop songs.

She's worked with Max Martin (the safest hit maker ever) on her pop albums, and hasn't really gone too far with her song production/themes like other artists (Like Gaga, who literally gave up her massive appeal by talking about social issues in BTW)

REALITY

I think she's good at garnering attention and making cute, catchy pop songs. She does have a certain influence that only some other pop stars have, but I mean other than that, I wouldn't go as far as to call her the "embodiment of pop." And if I'm being honest, I believe that a lot of her music is superficial. Maybe it's just my preconceived notions of her or something, but when like 90% of your best-known songs are based on breakups, it's like, girl, you need to start doing something more.

I also feel like she doesn't have much of a perspective on stuff. She seems to stay quiet most of the times unless something is directly pertaining to her.

Because she has a rabid stanbase lmao. Plus nowhere in my post did I state everybody hates her, I only stated the reason people hate her.

It still has a concept, I can't find it but there are plenty of analyses from users here. Reputation is about love, feuds and breakups, and only like 3 songs connected with the title.

How is working with Max Martin and Jack Antonoff and collaborating with Ed Sheeran risk taking  :deadbanana:

Shes just very smart and knows what works for her, shes relatable to white girls etc. Same as Ed Sheeran. Shes also not offensive or too sexual so that makes her more marketable. Her and Max Martin = success. I think im slowly becoming a fan tbh. I dont want to but shes everywhere. :selena:

There can be 99 bottoms in the area but all it takes is 1 top to believe in you.
