It's extreme funny how delusional you are when literally NOBODY except of the bitter pop forum haters care about that crap.

Delusional? Bitter? Lmfao, I'm not even hating on Taylor, she's not my favorite pop star but I like listening to her. I'm telling you how it is and you can't fathom that not everybody sucks up to her like you do. I'm not saying that to insult you but it's sad to think you think it true. I'll say Taylor has carved out a niche in pop genre, the higher class yuppie-like genre of pop that makes her so beloved in certain groups but she is no MJ or Britney. I'm not even pressed that Taylor is more successful than Gaga, that's par for the course but all you talk about is sales. Sales don't mean the same thing as they used to, in this day music is put out to be sold to the lowest common denominator. She's nice yes, but she's just not gonna be as beloved as the former two, it's a hard pill to swallow but it's so. I'm not gonna say she'll be forgotten, no, I think people will remember her long after she's off the scene but she has to pull like 2 or 3 more 1989s to be considered akin to MJ or Britney.

1)It's actually funny cause I don't even actually stan Taylor. It just disgusts me to see all the Gaga fans here pretending like she hasn't achieved A LOT..So stop playing the "i am a crtiical thinker that says it like it is" card to me.Cause you are clearly a lot more biased on the subject than I am for some reason.

2)How exactly don't sales mean the same thing that they used to? O.o They are literally the only measure of success of music. The only difference is now sales are a combination of sales and streaming. They're still the way to figure out how successful an artist is at the moment and how big of an impact he/she has on the GP.

3)What exactly is your argument here? You keep saying that "Yeah she is good blah blah but she is not going to be remembered" but you literally haven't spent a second to explain why.And that's because it's simply an opinion that you have without any facts to back it up.

Did Britney really do anything insanely special that Taylor hasn't done?

She has pretty good album sales. Taylor has the same sales with less albums and in an era that it's harder to sell albums.

Taylor has more hits a lot more consistenly than Britney.

Both didn't really release any ground-breaking music that changed the industry.(But that didn't stop Britney from being considered iconic)

You act like Taylor has had like 1 successful album when literally ALL 5 of her previous albums are at least x7 platinum. And reputation (her 6th) is x3 platinum in one month. This kind of consistency in album sales hasn't happened in a LONG time.Even Michael didn't have such a huge consistency for so many albums (even though his numbers were bigger than Taylor's,especially on his peak).

So after 6 smash albums, you really think that she has anything to prove? I don't think so.

4)The fact that you actually said that she is going to be remembered for "how she could squeeze every penny out of every situation." really SHOWS how objective you are on the subject and how in touch you are with reality.

Quote me again when you can back up your opinion with literally AT LEAST 1 decent point. Cause you've made no other point so far other than "Sales don't really matter anymore" "She is not going to be remembered as much as them and it's just true".

To compare any of Taylor Swift's albums with ARTPOP would be a joke. :toofunny:Taylor just sings about boys and living in the 1980s. At least Gaga has always had concept.

This. Gaga doesn't get enough credit for the creativity of her song and album concepts. Even her songs about sex or partying are often clever in their perspective.

It's actually funny how bent out of shape you get over crap like this. I just said that Taylor has completed a lot in her career, or do you not read/cherry pick things? Very typical.

You keep mentioning Taylor's sales and whatnot but oh my god there's more to artists than just that.  You haven't mentioned any reason why Taylor will be remembered, just sales. Sales does not necessarily prove talent, it just shows how commercial one's music can be.

Also I'm not arguing for Britney either. It's just that Britney did it first and she spawned the pop idol thing. Britney isn't especially talented or anything but she was at the right place and time and for that reason she's beloved because of what she represents, teens going crazy for what's current/pop culture.

Aside from your circular logic, according to metacritic, none of her albums have even reached critical acclaim. Just generally favorable reviews ranging from the mid seventies.

Come quote me again hunny :) I'm here for your salty comeback!

The inaccuracy in your posts tho.

1)We didn't even argue about her talent. We argued about how much she will be remembered. And what people remember is what was truly popular.People never care about talent, except of rare occasions like Adele.

2)Also having 71-77 to all of your 6 albums as a POP artist is a very positive thing. It might not be over 80 that is considered "critically acclaimed" but it means that you serve good quality consistently with all of your albums..

Despite her having good scores though, the GP doesn't care about metacritic either.. There are many iconic albums that were critically panned and are still remembered. Baby one more time,Teenage Dream etc.

Somehow you managed to change the conversations with how much she will be remember to how talented she is.

I can prove that she is talented, but this wasn't the topic in the first place. So I really don't see why you are going there.

So consistency is what's gonna keep her beloved by the gp? There's many artists out there who are consistently bad. Having multiple average albums is not what's gonna make her be on the same level as MJ or Britney.

The only talent she has is manipulating the public into buying into her persona and decent song writing. She can't dance, she can't sing, y'know one of the most important aspects of an artist.

I really don't see what you're doing.

There is really no point for this conversation to keep going. Stay biased.

Stopped reading at this. :madge:

All of Britney's singles, especialy those pre 2005 were an event and were WW hits. She charted bad in the US, but that's because she almost never released physical coppies of her singles and back that there was no Spotify, iTunes and YouTube and she charted only on Radio airplay, but than was banned on US Radio for 3 years. Britney was a WW force back than, Taylor is not that WW. Also, sorry to bring it to you, but Britney is a legend because she represents a hole generation and is an epitome of a Superstar. Britney was the girl all girls wanted to be, all boys wanted to date, everyone coppied, was invited personaly by Michael Jackson to perform with him on stage. Even today Britney's star power is bigger than Taylor's.

I like Taylor, but comparing her to MJ and Britney is dellusional. What has she done to be remembered for, aside from the 2009 Kanye scandal? Sales does not mean everything.
