freebit 6,240 Posted December 21, 2017 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Britney's career moves (or lack-thereof), have nothing to do with her having a residency, though many Britney stans scapegoated it for lots of things they thought were going wrong (for the longest time they blamed it because of her not touring and promoting, but she proved them wrong when she went on that mini tour in Asia this year). Britney being more at a comfortable, low-key phase of her life and still having young children to raise is more the reason why she has a quieter public profile now than anything else (not to mention her going through hell in 2007). All of the press right now surrounding it is so positive - especially considering the paycheck shell be getting for it. Its just her showing that she is in high demand. She said herself shes had some bad performances (awards disaster and womanizer x factor, yes she cuts out the moves and walks up and down, they were pretty bad) But previous to those performances she was totally amazing. Britney is a different thing, she shines in a club atmosphere, gaga has the confidence to do the Oscars, apart from her fibro she can shine when the cameras are on. Some say 50 shows...some say 36, and they are to be in 2018 and 2019, but who knows when they could be blocked off? It could be a three-four month thing...or it could be a few shows here, a few there. Doubtful it will be like Britney's show where that's all she did. I love Britney, but she's a lazy pop star. She doesn't spend a lot of time in the studio, and she doesn't even re-record her songs to lip synch to. Gaga is the opposite of that. (Obviously Gags doesn't lip synch..we know!) She always does multiple things at once. It may be a chance for her to perform for this new LG6 era without actually touring...maybe she's doing another movie? Something where she can go back and forth from Vegas to LA quickly. She barely promoted it, we got 3 videos, one was made with iphone on a go. Were you really expecting her to promote LG6 like in her early days? Come one guys, she is done with that. Being a judge on those talent shows is an even bigger "retirement" stamp than Vegas, so my thinking is that sealed her fate BEFORE any Vegas gig did. Gaga truly is coming off a big year.
