Did Britney's career tank after Vegas, can Gaga's?

A lot of us are worried because of the stigma of doing a Vegas residency. It has historically been a place for artists to "retire". Britney was basically the first young and relevant star to do it. But her commercial career has tanked since doing it. Can this happen to Gaga? If not, why?

I don’t think she promoted her newer music as much. She went to Vegas and kind of laid low other than the show.

If Gaga wanted to retire, then the woman would retire. Y’all would cry and then you’d get over it.

Manage yourselves before trying to manage her.

Britney literally did not tank, she prolonged her relevancy with her residency.

Virtually no one was buzzing about Britney Jean or Glory. Vegas kept her career afloat.

Britney just seems exhausted to me, like she wants to take a break and just sleep for 10 years :selena:

Gaga still has a bit of fire left. She better use it before Carino sucks it out of her :madge:

they're incomparable and i'm so sick of fans comparing the two residencies.

britney was comfortable in vegas and felt fine doing just that, gaga is an artist who actually (sometimes) promotes things and is always working on something new

Britney's sales declined because she was huge in the 90s and early 2000s, so almost 20 years ago. kids nowadays don't buy music of "old" people

if you honestly think vegas will DAMAGE gaga's career than... what? it makes no sense

the decline of britney was going to happen no matter what, she's a star from the 90s so that's almost 20 years worth of new artists on the scene

Britney was massive though in 2013 from Scream And Shout months before which is arguably her biggest uk hit. Plus work bitc* was well known and cool. I feel like she wanted to lay low because she was getting a lot of attention again just before the residency.

Britney's career was already on a downward spiral by the start of the Britney Jean era. Nobody was checking for her or her new music. If anything, the Vegas gig helped her.

she didn't really promote her stuff so it was expected to flop after the "fan effect" is over

i still think that if Slumber Party was the Lead it could be a top ten hit tho

but Britney is far from over or forgotten and i really think that gaga will be fine cause a lot of mainstream artist are doing it too

 also don't forget 2018RadioIsOurs :sure:

THIS

Tbh, she's all over E News, magazines, websites, etc., for her personal life, her residency, and her body. If anything, it's kept her relevant and in the news.

plus gaga will be all over the world during her residency, imo

she's in the middle of making a record and the residency takes up 10% of the year, so it's clear as day she'll be out and about promoting LG6 through vegas as well as anywhere they've planned
