thatsmoneyhoney 807
Let's be real, guns aren't really necessary nowadays. I want you to ask yourself when you have ever felt like a gun was necessary for you to use. For those asking, "How could America allow this?" It's because the right to have guns is in the Constitution. However, I feel the same way as you. When you think about it, when the constitution was written, guns weren't very fast and it was important if someone was on your land or stealing from you. Most people owned farms where they grew their food, so if someone was stealing their food, then they wouldn't be able to eat. Nowadays, most people don't own farms. Most people go to the store or a restaurant to get food. Therefore, I don't think guns are very necessary anymore. And also, guns are very fast now. Muskets and such from that time period are a lot different from the wide variety of guns available today. OT: I feel devastated for the family. It's upsetting that they had to lose their son, who was so young. We should educate people on how to safely store and use guns if we're gonna allow people to buy them. Spoiler Also, gun education should be necessary if we're gonna allow people to get guns. Stores that sell guns should make sure that the people who are purchasing aforementioned guns are properly educated. Like how abortion clinics are (in some states) legally allowed to make sure that women who seek abortions know the consequences of their actions. Spoiler It's not like guns kill more people than something such as abortion.. free my mind

You can always have another gun, but a kid is so much more valuable? How can they go on living knowing that a kid died a preventable death? You're absolutely right. America should not be criticized for one household’s idiotic choice. America should be criticized for the epidemic of gun violence that has ravaged this country and is killing far more people than in any part of the developed world. We should be criticized for the fact that our lawmakers refuse to do anything to address this epidemic.

That is their fault for not using common sense and putting their gun in a place that is accessible tho children. This isn't just one household. I hear of this happening in my city several times a year. A review of shootings nationwide by The Associated Press and USA TODAY Network found that at least 141 deaths of minors were attributed to unintentional or accidental shootings in 2015. If you're going to have guns in a society available to citizens who are not police officers or soldiers, then proper education need to be provided in how to safety store and handle guns, as well as limiting your uses to defense/hunting.
