Is Monster about rape?

Rifek

Featured Posts

Said to me, "Girl, you look good enough to eat."
Put his arms around me
Said, “Boy, no, get your paws right off me.”

I wanna just dance, but he took me home instead
Uh-oh, there was a monster in my bed

He tore my clothes right off
He ate my heart and then he ate my brain

It seems kinda obvious for me.

Did Gaga confirm it ever?

Could be. 'Monster' is after all about the fear of men - or perhaps the guy was just really attracted to her, yet she didn't feel right about his intentions?

I dont think so  the aggressive words are part of the “Monster” metaphor. Gaga said TFM was all about the monsters she found on the road after The Fame was released. It could be about men in general

I always thought so. At least that's how I interpret it.

I thought it was quite obvious. Not just a random encounter but being assaulted by somebody that you were crushing on.

I always thought it was about being cheated on by a man that slept with her friend or something like that. So I’ll just keep thinking that :madge:

“he ate my heart” meaning she loves him and “then he ate my brain” after that she couldn’t stop thinking of him.

‘Her monster could mean Eh-ny-thing’

Yeah, it’s fear of men, s*x. Etc. however the whole fame monster concept is a little bit of a reach to me tbh. Like I can say that every album of gaga has the same concept. Applause - fear of being alone, swine - fear of men, joanne - fear of losing friend or aunt or other imporant person etc etc etc

It’s not a reach.Thats her concept!  Applause is not about the feat of being alone but the need to keep the show going on and the show means her whole life. And Joanne is about moving on after you lost someone
