Ada 1,665
Could be if we're talking about the music industry. I still believe she needs THAT big move that's gonna change the game (not a BR, but something that would mark culture forever, like Lennon's impact in the 70s). The seed is definitely there, though. I think if she devoted herself to social change and real, powerful impact in that field (presented in an original way, Gaga's way), that could make her the legend she's meant to be. Multiple Grammy Awards performances, AMA's, the AMAZING Sound Of Music Oscars Tribute, plus the following year's TIHTY Oscar performance, multiple artist tribute performances (Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Sting) and TWO Super Bowl performances - she played all the worlds biggest stages and killed every performance. I think she's proved herself to be more than legendary. This too, I completely agree End Racism Now

Thrasher 22,980
She has done a lot of things and she has a lot of accomplishments but if she would end her career now, I don’t know if like 30 years from now she will still be remembered with the same perception as for example Michael Jackson, Prince, Bowie, Cher or Madonna are remembered. She has to keep the game going for more years from now to achieve that (i’m not referring to commercial success only, let’s be clear) “Come over, when you’re sober”
PunkTheFunk 123,754
She's already a pop culture icon, there's absolutely no denying that. But if I'm being completely unbiased, no, she's not a legend. At least, not yet. To be remembered as a legend among the likes of Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, etc., she needs to: 1) Stick around and remain at least somewhat relevant for another 20-30 years. If in 2024 you hear someone say "whatever happened to Lady Ga Ga? I haven't heard about her since Poker Face" that's a bad sign 2) Continue racking up the critical acclaim. More Grammys, Oscar noms, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc. Not only this, but she needs to go for the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, & Tony). A Nobel Prize wouldn't hurt either. 3) Continue spreading her talents across multiple fields/genres for multiple audiences (act in more films, star on Broadway, tour with Metallica for a year, start a cooking empire, become a motivational speaker ) 4) Have another iconic pop era...soon She needs to refresh the GP's memory and I don't think a 13 minute Superbowl performance was enough. It doesn't even have to chart that well (Bey's singles from Lemonade barely made it above #10 on the BB Hot 100), as long as the GP remembers it. Mr S 8,279
Of course not. SHe is in the transitional stage though. Only Britney and Beyonce have reached that level amongst youngerish people.

moonsago 6,578
Not yet, but definitely on her way to becoming one. She’s been the fastest growing icon ever though, I mean she’s been an icon from the second album, I mean not even Madonna or Britney had that. But she NEEDS another extremly succesful era to at least touch that legend status and if we are lucky maybe two more. But yeah, her going for that Oscar, acting, doing tributes, jazz is very VERY smart and you can tell she wants it really bad.

Few more years and with a good management, she'll have the Legend status. This. The term legend is overused. Imo, there are very few living legends. Gaga has at minimum a few years to go to achieve that status. In fact, her career may have to have the longevity and sustained impact of Cher's or Aretha's to become a legend. Sorry for those who hate to wait. Imo, of course. I live outside the space time continuum.
