Lady Gaga The critical acclaim in 2017 was at an all time high. Her album Joanne became the best selling female album of the last year. 2. Cardi B It's been years since a female rapper has come along and slayed so much. She was put on best dressed lists by Vogue, got engaged, earned a #1 hit, and has a lovable image. 3. Britney Spears In 2017, Britney was coming off a year where she released one of her most critically acclaimed album of her career. Britney has continued her Vegas show this year and has been applauded for her new energy and better dancing. The real reason Britney had an amazing 2017 is that she got to be HER. She spent a lot of time painting works of art and even dipped into modeling with her home runway shows. She taught dance classes to little girls and spent a lot of time being one of the best moms. Britney also snatched a HOTT 23 year old boyfriend. She also partner with the opening of a cancer facility. Honorable mention: Janet Jackson She ditched her husband (who alledgedly abused her). Lost A TON of weight and ran one of the best tours this year. WORST 1. Katy Perry A lead single that didn't spend long in the Top 10 or the hot 100. Two following singles that flopped. Bashed by the media. Criticized for bashing Britney. 2. Miley Cyrus Her album flopped and flopped bad. She faded away so much in 2017. 3. Nicki Minaj Released so many feature singles, many of which flopped. Lost the best female rapper award at the BET Awards for the first time in years. Got owned by Remy Ma with Shether. Her place as the top female single has been challenged by Cardi B, and its seemed to overshadow Nicki. Honorable mention: Harry Styles Harry was supposed to be the most successful 1D singer. However, his lead singles spent a short time on the Hot 100 and his two following singles flopped. Just like many publications, like Billboard, do for award performances etc. The post is positive as well. Perhaps my descriptions were harsh, but i think it's a fair thread. Katy Perry Her successful and experimental era Witness had people talking about her the whole year. #1 Album, Top 10 singles, a Big Brother type of streaming transmition, a successful world tour (World Tour, not just North America and Europe Taylor. HA!) What else could you ask for? Oh, right. Be immortalized in a Museum. Maybe this is what ART POP means after all. 2. The Chainsmokers Their Majesty of EDM started the year very well. They won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording for one of the best dance songs of ALL TIME! And guess what, they were also nominated for next year's Grammys for their single with Coldplay Something Just Like This. Maybe that Gaga tweet she sent them last year blessed them with some recognition and critical acclaim. 3. Nicki Minaj Her rap majesty definitely had one of the best years in her career. First of all, because she was blessed by the queen of pop Katy Perry to duet in VMA performed song Swish Swish. And second, she was also blessed by another superstar to collaborate on one of the hottest tracks of the year. Yes, Miss Cardi B also blessed Nicki with the collab with Migos MotorSport. Her album sold over a million copies and has spent three weeks at #1. Also LWYMMD is the first female solo single to reach #1 since Hello. Possibly going to have a sold out STADIUM tour. 2: Kendrick Lamar. He had his first #1 single and his best selling album. Not to mention a great sold out tour. 3: Lady Gaga. The public finally likes her again. Her halftime show is considered to be one of the best halftime shows of all time. A massive sell out tour. Worst: 1: Katy Perry. Everyone cringing at her. A #1 album that flopped hard and receiving a lot of negative reviews. A mixed review tour that's not really selling out. Sloppy performances. 2: Nicki Minaj: Has become irrelevant. A child rapist for a brother. Anything she's on is flopping. Can't decide if she wants to release an album this year or not. 3: Miley Cyrus. One single that peaked at #10 for like a week. Album flopped hard. Her album couldn't even debut at #1. Nobody talks about her anymore. She is completely irrelevant. Can't even tour because her singles and album are flopping so hard.
