Like how weird. Issues is nominated for SOTY but not pop solo and Melodrama for AOTY but not pop album. i think the a academy wanted maximum diversity and were sick of the same albums and songs winning over and over again. If Divide was nominated for AOTY, a pop album win would’ve locked. Still pressed Gaga was snubbed for the big categories like always. MR is her most deserving song she’s ever put out for SOTY. the uncertainty is killing me. Literally, anything could happen on Jan 28th and i totally support this chaeri pls

It's like the committees for Pop didn't think Issues and Melodrama were worthy and the BRP said surprise bitch we're altering the general field to include a female led song and female album. There is no committee for the Pop genre. Surprise, bitch. The nominees are from popular votes

They're chosen from Top 20 popular votes but listed in alphabetical order. Still.

It was nominated for SOTY and not Pop Solo. They are saying it's great songwriting but not a great record/vocal. Melodrama one is weird though. How can it be the best album of the year but not one of the best pop albums.
Mr S 8,673
Or you could just say the winner was the most successful song, with the exception of "Set Fire To The Rain" because Adele. Also I don't know why people keep saying Kesha has a chance. I said it all along she would be relegated to the pop field and her nomination would be her win. I knew she wouldn't show up in the GF. Her back story is bigger on the internet/music forums than it is in real life. If you ask the average person who Kesha is they'll have no idea. If the voters REALLY cared about her backstory she'd be in the GF. Again, her nomination is her reward. And we should be happy. To go from no Grammy nods to a respected Grammy nominated artist is a great accomplishment.

Not when the chainsmokers are “respected Grammy winning artists” I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.
