I'm really shocked she got the #1. I thought judging by her recent underperforming singles that she wouldn't stand a chance. But I'm really disappointed with the album. It's the only one from her so far that I actually didn't like. The only really good songs on the standard edition are The Architect, Guilty and Still Around. The last 3 bonus tracks are good and I don't know why they didn't make the standard but it still wouldn't be enough to really change my overall opinion even so. Very few songs still sound Paloma-esque. I feel like she's given in to too many current trends. At least she's kept the disco vibe right down this time. I think she should totally release My Body as a single, though. That could be huge in the gay clubs and drag clubs. Why that song was left off the album is anyone's guess. Such a song has so much appeal to so many.

I feel like all her albums have got steadily worse, it's a real shame. I don't know if she can come back from this. I feel like she's got a good message to send with this album but its already all been said before.

Pretty sure she doesn’t have to ‘come back from’ having a number one album? Pretty sure she won’t be relying solely on your opinion on where to take her career next :oprah: No shade btw I usually like your posts

I mean "coming back from" in terms of delivering quality, in my opinion. I just think she's so far away from what made her so different and unique to start with. I'm in no way expecting her to change according to my opinion, of course, I don't know where you got that impression. I just think that once an artist starts changing, it can be hard to get them back to how they used to be.

I'm so happy for her 😭 I hope she comes back to Australia for a tour. I had tickets last time but she got food poisoning and cancelled my show :(

Villanelle

Listen darlins, I have been a fan of Queen Paloma since 2009 aka when she first debuted her first single Stone Cold Sober (unknowingly, I already knew of her existence, as I'd already seen her as Andrea the emo in St Trinians....subconsciously I was already stannin' a legend). Anyway,

Out of all of her 4 albums, if any of them really deserved a #1- it's this one- The Slaychitect. There is so much diversity in terms of songs on this album. From the political side to the self-empowerment. Also a really great song at the end called 'Price of Fame' about Queen Amy Winehouse.

Queen Paloma has never been a singles artist. Ever. The only singles that have done relatively well were Only Love Can Hurt Like This (which regained attention due to her iconic BRITs performance - which would've been the talk of the night had Madonna not decided to fall down the stairs) and Can't Rely On You did well (i think).

Queen Paloma holds records with her albums. In the UK she has a record that only her and Adele have (and i've forgotten what it's called). Longest album in the chart or somethng like that.
