...OK, to be honest, I wasn’t even that big of a fan of hers ‘til this last album Joanne, but watching the sheer physical endurance of her dancing and singing (hitting every note) live throughout her set was just another example of why Gaga is iconic....

...Mother Monster herself put on probably one of the most insane live shows I’ve ever seen in my life (which is saying something since I sort of review concerts for a living), but it wasn’t the floating stages, pulsing LED lights, costume changes and choreography that hit me right in the feels – it was her message; a message of hope, endurance, struggle and pain – something any human on the planet could relate to.

If you weren’t already crying from the way Gaga was slaying the audience, you were crying then.

Speaking of crying and emotions in general, let’s talk about the vibe in the arena: even just walking to our seats before the show, you could hear people complimenting each other's costumes – a range of drag, club kid and chic freak – naturally. That sense of camaraderie and family was heightened as the entire audience danced and sobbed as Gaga tugged on our heart strings and forced us to feel something.

If you were at the show last night and weren’t ready to have a tangible emotional experience, there’s a good chance you could’ve gone into shock. It was that heavy. I myself might need to talk this out with someone after, writing this actually is helping me sort through all my emotions (I'm not still crying – yes I am)....

Before closing with “Joanne,” Gaga says to the audience “thanks for letting me borrow your hat, Texas” referring to the now iconic pink cowboy hat she’s sporting on the cover of the eponymous album.

It's not my fault that Texas (Austin) just can't get enough of her.

It's a nice review, but the comment below it really struck a chord. Here's it in full:

...Best concert experience ever. Lady Gaga doesn’t just create art, She IS art. Creating the music and stage performance as vessels for a deeper meaning than just pop . If I had written this review it would have highlighted undeterred fans waited in long , cold and windy lines outside due to new, tightened security eerily similar to post 911 in contrast to the bright light that is GaGas bedazzling spiritual core that underscores all the shiny objects of a world class concert production. I would have mentioned her very original and intimate dialogue- literally between she and the audience -intimate because of her self revealing battles with rarely discussed subjects like chronic pain and the pain of grief. Her bravery to reveal her vulnerabilities outside of the music is an enormous part of what connect millions of people to her. I have been to so many concerts and other than Bruce Springsteen I don’t know of any artist that can create an almost spiritual experience with thousands of people. She makes such an effort to want to be seen as a human being dealing with the same pain as the rest of us. What we need more of. Her messages of equality, sameness, and what unites us in these violent and destructive times deserves as much coverage as her music- which you didn’t mention recently received Grammy nominations, and her spectacular arena production. Isn’t a review of Lady Gaga worthy of coverage of even some of this? Austin needs her to return again one day. She needs to know we really get her....
