She clearly sings the verses but I'm not sure bout that chorus.

Most of the performance is lypsynced. She never really sang Sexxx Dreams fully live.

Yep. Plenty of performances I've noticed she lip sync'd. Especially during choruses.

Exactly.  Gaga doesn't lip-sync, she sings live.

The chorus has a heavy backing track, but she is still singing under it, she is not pretending to sing it

Here is an example where the backing track and her vocals are on the same level, you can hear them both

Are they not just the backing vocals? :selena:

Yes.  Backing tracks are for situations where something goes wrong, or for when a performer must skip some notes to dance or something.  When Gaga uses a backing track, she is singing live over it.

This is the key.

I remember a video from Fashion live at MB 1.0 and there was this awkward scene that her mouth was really far from the microphone and she said something but the sound went like she was on the microphone when she clearly wasn't.

Backtracks are also ok but one thing that people might go crazy over me but it's a fact: It's not "lipsynch" when you're not miming your mouth to the track, but still no live performance when it's the song playing and you just moving around like it happened few times with gaga... but still, we all know goddess can sing so :lolga:

Oh my god, you gays and not knowing the difference between backing tracks and full lip syncing. Let's be real - every, and I mean EVERY artist in the pop game uses backing tracks with backing vocals.  Every single one. Some plump them up with backing singers (like Gaga did in the Monster Ball and the last artRave shows), and some don't. Unless you're a fully live band, you use backing tracks to create the sounds heard on the album, and that's it.

But let me tell you -  there's a huge difference between singing a hard-to-nail chorus under a backing track, and just full on lip syncing a performance. Michael Jackson is my favourite artist of all time, but the man didn't sing Billie Jean live after the Bad world tour. Britney. Rarely actually sings her songs. Here, the artists move their lips to a full backing track (including the verse), to give the illusion that they're singing while doing complex choreography. It's not possible, but we're here for a show.

Gaga generally sings her verses fully live, and sings the chorus under a backing track - sometimes it's a very heavy backing track like with Sex Dreams, Poker Face, or something like Donatella because they're hard to sing. Sometimes it'll be because she's choreographed to dance at that point, like in that Edge of Glory vomit video you guys keep pulling out when this comes up. She dances and gets spun around by Mark then. Sometimes she sings very low. But let's just put this to rest: Lady Gaga does not pretend to sing when she's not. If the backing track is very loud, she's either singing quietly while moving, or not moving her lips. She's not pretending anything.
