I think one important ingredient is missing from the above readings: gay :unicorn:

She's a wild American riding a dream (possibly... an American Dream. She is the daughter of immigrants. Besides that she has her own dream of being a star).

Where she's got a rainbow syrup in her heart -- the rainbow is not just her creativity, it is her own gay side as well as the support of the gay community and her fascination with liberating gayness throughout her life. That she bleeds, through her work, her art, her persona, her album.

Important to this is the next line (still connected): They don't care if your papers or your love is the law. "They" is the gays, the new civilization of gay space communists (jk, I mean the alien race of G.O.A.T.) that don't care about our love being lawful or us getting papers for it (marriage). She's a free soul burning roads (the highway unicorn, on a motorcycle) with a flag in her bra. The flag is a rainbow flag of course. She's burning the road -- marrying the night -- fighting for gay liberation. :)

The center of the album is this song and is also what inspires the cover. She said the cover was a vision of her on an endless road of creativity and passion with a dream. That's what the song is too.

Riding a dream means you're living out your life's dream.

A rainbow syrup in her heart means she bleeds equality and preaches it and loves all.

It's not even a difficult metaphor so...
