Wouldn't it be more responsible to have an abortion rather than bringing an unwanted child that you can't support into the world?  Of course, people should strive to prevent unwanted pregnancies but they happen. That's why abortion is a thing

What about pregnancies that come from rape? Or women who have never wanted children but accidentally got pregnant (condom may break, BC failure)? What about women who find out they are pregnant but then are notified if the child was born they would have many disabilities or most likely die? And children don't just need a responsible adult, they need LOVE, and they need to belong. Many people just simply do not want to raise kids. 

Not every pregnancy is due to some woman who doesn't know how to "step up and take responsibility",  many times women who have abortions suffer greatly before and after making the decision to terminate the pregnancy, and the decision to do so was in fact taking responsibility and deciding what was best for this potential life. Being born to people who never wanted you is not a good life.
