The song is a fusion of different genres, such as pop, bubblegum pop, art pop, electronica and rock. Many critics and fans as well have labelled it as "fizzy", "delightful" and "pleasurable". And it's also controversial, as Taylor dropped the F word in a very subtle way Iconic. And even the also iconic magazine Glamour stated that she saved pop music in 2017 once again. Truly understandable, as she released this pop gem after some more bland and boring previous releases like some "woke themes that state for nothing" to "some traffic light colored romance references".
