To me, MR isn't a song requiring a lot of theatrical vocals and layering them on just makes the song sound strained. The beauty of the song is that it's simple and sturdy. It's far and away best when she performs it simply and authentically. On the flip side, TEOG and Yoü and I sound great when she amps them up. MR is just a different kind of ballad than I think she's really used to performing so she needs to get a feel for how to perform it best which is why she's changed it so many times.
