I think what I find noble in this particular case is that she never betrayed her own convictions. I think in this case ‘dying’ for a belief is not really applicable, because she’s not going to die for her belief. But she did show a consistent belief throughout her life, albeit a dangerous and toxic one, and she really did stand by it, despite her old age, when it obviously would’ve been easier and more comfortable to just give up. If we consider that, maybe, she genuinely did wholheartedly believe that the Holocaust was a hoax (because of mental illness or something), it is quite impressive that she was relentless in trying to bring awareness to her ideas, even at old age. So yeah, I totally agree that there are many grey areas (are there ever not when it comes to praise and punishment?) But standing up for what you believe is usually a sign of strong moral principles in my book. I think it's faaaar more likely she had mental barriers that prevented her from analysing the situation objectively... I'd call it being delusional but I'm glad you can derive inspiration from this - hopefully you'll put it to good use It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! Morphine Prince 109,766
They didn’t just jail some random woman for denying the Holocaust, she is an active Nazi spreading her ideology. It was about time she was jailed. Nazism is a cancer and it must be eradicated. She can rot in that cell for the rest of her pathetic life. Furthermore, Germany is unique with this topic and cannot let Nazism grow again.
benKo 3,362
I think jailing should be for people, who are an active threat to the society. I read somewhere in the last few days, I don't remember the country, a holocaust denier didn't go to jail, he got send to different memorials and had to write essays about his experiences and feelings, got to spoke with victims and families of victims to learn what really happend. I don't want to defend her in any way, but saying someone can rot in hell or should be jailed forever is just encountering hate with hate. Doesn't really help. You also have to consider, that if she had Nazis in the family herself, it might lead to some kind of psychic disease because she doesn't want to believe it. So better treat her, than just jailing her away. But maybe it's both happening, I don't know exactly how it is right now.

True freedom of speech doesn’t exist and I think she’s aware of that. At least based on her picture in court. I think it’s very noble of her to stand up for what she believes despite her age and the unfairness of the media and the severe punishment. So in a way, maybe it’s better for her to be a martyr and face punishment for not betraying her beliefs. I think I have to throw up... FunBuns 596
Do I need to say more? This is extremely important for the whole world to remember. There will always be people denying it and unfortunately, these men and women that made it out of (I'm trying to find a word but it's just so... I have no words to describe it) this, they are getting older. You can hear the disturbing stories from the brave people on Facebook or YouTube. It's all over social media. Please care and listen because we must continue and teach people that things as terrible as that happened. I saw these places. I was there. Were you? If you think it didn't happen, look it up and open up because this is the hard reality. www.soundcloud.com/aphrodisio

Thats where you are wrong, she is hurting people, millions of people who are either living survivors, families of survivors and most importantly, families of people that died. Dont you think they are hurt when this bitch makes her statements? When she is pushing this dumb rethoric, when she is potentially teaching younger generations this stupid idea? She is hurting people, and she is pissing over 10 million graves. Hope some jewish people in prison show them how the holocaust felt
Ronk 14,930
In cinema class we studied some films about the holocaust. I made a short video of parts of a movie where the filmmaker took survivors to the places where it actually happened and asked them questions about what happened to them. The format of some of this is the filmmaker would ask the questions through an interpreter. The interviews were done in the 1970s. This is very difficult to watch because you see real survivors relating what happened. You will cry. Sorry. I live outside the space time continuum.
