ARTPOP was also focused on anger, pain and sadness as Gaga said herself at the artrave i know that. duh. But the if you only think about the music i think that is pretty fun and happy compared to BTW and TFM, don't you think?
sipthistea 21,099
I think she'll make happy songs, but also sad, angry and emotional songs too. Every album is a mix of emotions.
Miel 15,009
As long as it's genuine, why not? Although Joanne isn't necessarily a happy album, it's definitely steered in that direction. If not happy, then hopeful is a good way to describe the album. 3 points in and ready for more

Illuminati 15,922
Sure, a sexy fun album like The Fame would be nice. I'm personally more interested in dark songs and her weirdness but she could benefit from a basic era.

REALITY 76,757
I'd love that. Maybe a couple of ballads here and there that take on more serious or more darker tones, but I think it'd be smart to have an album full of happy songs. It'd be a perfect way for her to explore the more dance-pop, electronic-pop (and maybe some disco/funk influences??) that she's known for, but I think it'll also help boost her moral. Making an album full of happy songs might very well be good for her mental health. She's always writing about dark things, and even if it does seem lighthearted (ARTPOP), it's much more dark than what it seems. Joanne is also a pretty dark album too. I mean, it's all very personal to her and with songs like Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons, Angel Down, and Joanne, it's a fairly dark album. Yes, there are definitely more lighthearted songs, but even the whole concept behind the name of the album is about her late aunt. And as we've seen throughout the documentary, the process making this record was anything but smooth. 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰

Dark visuals and aesthetic are what she's best at but she needs to do other things before going back to dark. I think making a jazz duet album and a country-rock album was enough before going back to "dark".
