Europe is right now in a state with so many countries. That wasn't always the case, the Roman empire (included almost all of western and southern Europe), the holy roman empire (included Central Europe and Italy), The empire of Charlemange (included France, Italy, Benelux states and Germany). HighlandHeart 993
Leaving the EU is a terrible decision. We elect people to make these decisions for us and those same people used false information and propaganda to swathe the vote in their direction. They said it would be "amazing" that we're leaving Europe. They haven't said HOW it is going to be amazing, HOW we are going to leave. It took Greenland THREE YEARS to leave the EU and it's population wasn't even close to 60,000. Britain made a mistake. If you don't have shadows you're not standing in the light. We are not speaking about a dollar zone – we are speaking about the United States, which is a great country." And tomorrow I want to speak about not the Eurozone but speak about Europe as a great country, with a great economy, with growth, with employment, with education, with investment and innovation," he added, as reported by European news site The Local. First problem: Europe is not a country, it is a continent. Why is this for some people so hard to understand? There are several completely different countries in Europe, with different cultures, different languages, different traditions, different political and economic systems, and different political interests. It is completely impossible to "unite" them and only some incredibly naiive person would seriously suggest something so incredibly moronic. Obvious problem, of course, is that most countries in Europe want to be as independent as possible and keep their own cultures instead of destroying them. Also, large majority of all the leftist, anarchist, and nationalistic political parties and groups in Europe hate European Union with passion, and for good reasons, because EU was basically established just to protect the rich and the powerful. Small countries hardly have any power in EU already and they would have even less power if that stupid idea about "united Europe" would become reality. Attempts to join European countries that are completely different compared to each other could lead to new civil wars all over Europe. What about The Soviet Union? That was one of the attempts to unite countries that have nothing to do with each other. That worked so well, right? Also, this so called "United States of Europe" would basically be totalitarian police state because there's no way it could be organized democratically. Not that it wasn't a fine idea. I live in Europe, you don't need to educate me on that Also countries based on culture are not even existing A person from the north of germany has a different culture than someone from the south. The idea of states based on ethnicity are outdated as ****. But I won't engage with further discussion with you because you seem just to insult people with a different mindset (Btw sis, Soviet union and European union are completely two different things)
