Plans to attack NYC subways, concerts, Times Square in 2016 revealed

An alleged ISIS-inspired plot targeting New York City was revealed today after the case was unsealed.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the alleged plot, which was described as more aspirational than operational.

According to a Justice Department press release, Abdulrahman el Bahnasawy, a 19-year-old Canadian citizen, purchased bomb-making materials to use in alleged attacks in New York City. He was arrested in May 2016.

Two additional accomplices, Tahla Haroon, 19-year-old U.S. citizen living in Pakistan, and Russell Salic, a 37-year-old Philippine citizen, were arrested as well, in September 2016 and April of this year, respectively, according to the press release.

The alleged plot was to have been carried out in the summer of 2016. Court records said the planned attacks included detonating bombs in Times Square and in the New York City subway system, and shooting civilians at specific concert venues.

It's just crazy that we haven't seen any major attack in NYC recently. Times Square is such an easy target... Hopefully we'll never have to witness another. I wonder how many terror plots are foiled on the daily.

There was that attack with a truck/van earlier this year in May. Where the driver hit people on the streets and killed one of them. It's horrible

Yea, I know of that one. Did we even figure out if the guy was intoxicated or not? Regardless, I'm talking about planned out attacks like 9/11.

I remember around that time there was this video circulating around and it basically was of a man getting dressed with a bomb underneath his suit and it was very ominous,well shot,and was on the news,it showed shots of new York and times square.

I remember this. I think it was an ISIS propaganda video or something, right? It was all over the news.
