As a nurse, I firmly do believe that vaccines save lives. Some nasty horrible diseases have been eradicated thanks to vaccines. That being said, I'm against over vaccination. I believe that children should have their initial shots as babies but then run a blood test called a titer that tells you if their immune system has appropriately responded and is immune to a particular disease/diseases. If the titer comes back positive, there's no need to re-vaccinate for whatever diseases you vaccinated for because the child is already immune. If the titer dips below a certain level, then get a booster vaccine.

10 years ago, a doctor thought of a "get rich quick" scheme and deliberately falsified scientific evidence to "prove" that vaccines cause death or autism (he was already in talks to get his idea of a "natural remedy" sold and distributed by a big company. However, he was caught lying and had his license revoked for it. However, he still put his idea out claiming that "doctors are all brainwashed by the pharmaceutical industry trying to harm us, that's why they revoked my license! they can't handle my revolutionary theory!" and many conspiracy theorists ended up believing him.
