Economy 49,280
Wow! Whos been whatching the new Star Trek series "Star Trek Discovery"???? I love the much darker and edgy feel in relation to the former 5 Star Trek Series! The acting is the best of all the series so far (even better than "Star Trek Deep Space 9" and "Star Trek Entererprise") It has the nicest sets so far and best looking ship (even better than Star Trek Voyager) Has the best graphics (obviously)
Economy 49,280
FORMER STAR TREK SERIES (by strengths and weaknesses: STAR TREK (1966): Original and fresh ideas. But terrible graphics and production by todays standards Star Trek The Next Generation (1987-1994): Brand new ideas to star trek. Not the worst Star Trek in anything but not the best in anything either in my opinion. Star Trek Deep Space 9 (1993-1999) : Most politically charged. It shows the less perfect side of the federation and shows most epic battle scenes and story during war at times reaches exiting epic climaxes. It also has some of the best acting of all the Star Trek series and believable characters However of all the Star Trek series it perhaps has the most boring and pointless filler episodes. Deep Space 9 was a rollercoaster at times reaching very high climaxes but at times getting boring as hell. Star Trek Voyager (1995-2001): Different feel! The first strong willed female Captain of the series and the idea of the ship lost across galaxy was cool. Voyager has the best individual espisodes NEVER ONCE feeling like there were boring filler episodes. Voyager had the best looking ship and coolest sets and rooms. More action than most Star Trek Series! But half of Voyagers characters however felt very bland and not very human, perhaps the worst of the Star Trek series for that. Some of the scrip at times was too perfect and felt over-rehearsed and overly formal. Voyager was probably also the worst of the Star Trek series for throwing problems under the rug and things contradicting themselves throughout series though it would be in details perhaps easy to miss if you only whatch it once Star Trek Enterprise (2001-2005): The acting and characters were as good and believable as in Star Trek Deep Space 9. The idea of a Star Trek Prequal was a good idea. Enterprise had more action than any previous series (even Voyager) and the show never contradicted itself in small details like past Star Trek series did (especially voyager). Everything always made sense and had an explanation Star Trek Enterprise wasnt really the worst in anything other than having the least cool technology since it was set 200 years before most star trek series and 100 years before the first series! Chromatislaps 34,837
I love how the protagonist is a black woman, I think there is more to her since her name is Michael which is usually a name assigned to men. I have a feeling her character may be non-binary
Sizzily 14,543
I'm sure in a few decades "dark and edgy" will be "cartoonish and cheesy" Tears in the rain
ChasingGhosts 726
I've been holding off watching since I've never liked anything except The Original Series, The Next Generation and the original films. Should I give it a go? Born This Way > Joanne > The Fame Monster > The Fame > ARTPOP

If thats what ur into u might not like this then Discovery is even more different from The Original Series and The Next Generation than Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise 😅

Glittertinks 12,397
I really like the new series! Although it brings a lot of fresh air into the Star Trek franchise, it also has a lot of classic elements of a Star Trek series. I get a lot of vibes from the TV Shows from the 90s, especially Voyager & Deep Space Nine. Really curious to see how this will go, it's only 3 episodes so far, so I guess we're jsut getting started - there was already a lot of strange stuff happening in Episode 3, I am looking forward to find out more about what is going on I also like the new set of characters, but I have no favorite yet, for that I still have to watch a few more episodes, although I think my tendency goes towards Michael Burnham and Paul Stamets. It reminds me of Deep Space 9 and Enterprise in the sense that the story seems to be continous rather than each episode its own thing. The acting and characters is as good as DS9 and Enterprise also if not better Also the sets and ship design are as good as Star Trek Voyager So far it seems like this one will be the best made! If they start to contradict or start throwing obvious problems under the rug like on Star Trek Voyager tho ill go insane cuz Voyager pissed me off in that aspect even tho in some ways it was the best Star Trek Series
StJames 376
Loved it so far! Cinematography is stunning! I grew up watching Star Trek as a child with my dad. My personal favourite was Voyager DIRTY PONY I CANT WAIT TO HOSE YOU DOWN

Star Trek Enterprise with Cap Archer was the best in that aspect. It always made sense and rarely contradicted itself. Deep Space 9 was pretty good in that aspect also tho. Voyager is hard to be beat cuz it was just terrible! They are alone in other side of Galaxy starting with a crew of under 150 yet enough people die over the 7 years of series to kill the crew like twice over yet the ship and crew look fully functional They say they cant replicate or make torpedos or gel packs and that only way to replenish them is in a starbase... During the 7 years they go through a massive amount of both and never run out yet i dont remember them ever saying they figured out a way to make their own Or how about the fact that the maquis crew that have nothing in common with starfleet mesh with starfleet crew almost problem free with only 2 or 3 episodes showing mild tention? Unrealistic problem under the rug much? There was way more, the list was huge but i havent whatched entire series in years so a lot of the worst contradictions i already forgot The characters were super bland. Kes, Chicotay, and Harry Kim for example were dry pieces of toast with hardly any personality... and Captain Janeway had horrible forced acting first 2-3 seasons (she got better after tho) where her character came across as stiff all the time and unnatural... Then Neelex and the Doctor were just way too extra, its like they weremaking up for all the bland characters by themselves Balana Torres, Tom Paris and 7 of 9 and maybe Tovok (cuz its hard to screw up a vulcan) were only believable characters tbh Again in some aspects Voyager was the best Star Trek. But in terms Consistancy & Characters it was by far the worst and if Discovery rails off as badly as Voyager on that the Producer better whatch his back
