What Twitter's capabilities are is also something that I've never looked into, so there's no need to make out like I'm stupid. When I did follow it, I still don't know the full story as it doesn't mention names. And if they were guilty for the crime in question, then, they were guilty. Is it wrong to frame guilty people as guilty now? I'm sure if the shooter hadn't killed himself, he'd have the same kind of headlines made about him when he was led away by police. Smoking and rapping may not be a criminal lifestyle, but it was the specifics of these things that were problematic. The headline doesn't do it justice (most headlines don't, they're just shock value and clickbait to get you reading). The article, however, went into detail - shortly before he was killed, he had stolen a box of cigars at a convenience store, pushing the clerk into a display case as he did so. So, this was how his smoking became criminal. He also drank and took drugs. He had made rap lyrics that were deemed "contemplative and vulgar" including lines like "my favourite part is when the bodies hit the ground." That kind of thing suggests a desire for criminal behaviour and lines like that are demonised in any genre by anyone. He'd also got into a physical fight with a neighbour. He didn't do well at school. The article even brought up what's hailed as the classic "white person excuse" of the fact he liked violent video games. Trust me, if he was white, exactly the same things would be brought up. I've seen it happen before. Hell, there was a white tv celebrity here called Chris Fountain who posted a video online of him singing an original rap with the line: "I'd rape a bitch on her birthday." It resulted in him getting fired from the tv show that he was currently filming and got him omitted from returning to a reality show (on which he won second place) for the last season special. The comments sections of news sites reporting on it were demanding he got fired. He couldn't get any work afterwards and kept a low profile and he's doing his first tv (supporting) role for the first time in 5 years next year. See, white people hate it when white people sing "harmless raps" as well! No, that's not what I'm saying. I've never used either of those hashtags and never will. I never said that minorities are not treated badly for their race. They are. But some people make out like race is the only reason anyone could possibly be mean to you or demonise you. That was ironically, the point I was making, yes, these things can happen at the same time! There's a whole host of ways that you can be demonised, to say that race is the only one and the most important one is so simplistic and fails to highlight other legitimate ways of being discriminated against. All discrimination is bad, we need to stop ranking it. It's a complete myth that white people help out other white people because they're white. In reality, all races put down other people who aren't exactly like them, even if it's their own people. If it's not race, it's something else. We've got to find some reason to pick on someone. That's been the story of my life. So, when minorities have tried to frame any kind of discrimination as something that just happens to them, pardon me if I feel the need to point out the inaccuracy of that. The mental gymnastics.... nnnnn And there is only one conclusion I can come to reading all of it.

I notice how you hardly ever attempt to intellectually engage with what I'm saying or attempt to prove me wrong. You just say things like "I can't even get started on what you wrote" and "nothing will change my opinion of you." Are you scared of having your points debunked if you tried to? It's amazing how you don't seem to realise that this is partly the reason why the world's so tense right now - we're shamed for our beliefs and no one will listen to them and want to see our points of view. It results in protest votes and explains why we're in this mess. Some people are so blind as to why there has been such a backlash against liberalism of late even when it's blatantly obvious why. The only upside to it all is that everything comes in cycles and it's the only way liberalism will ever reign again. I just hope it's the kind of liberalism that actually deals with logic, facts and reason, though. I hate to tell you this but I'm not the cookie cutter stereotypical image of a white person you seem to think I am. In your own words, Europeans are very different from Americans. I'm not going to wase my time typing essays with someone I don't feel is engaging in a way where they fail to see the other side. I am not afraid of having my points challenged and I do it all the time and I am open to having them challenged, in fact. But I have my limits and if I've deemed that I'm wasting my time I don't bother. Your last statment... I'd rather not.

It's because I've seen and understand the other side that I'm writing this. I'm merely pointing out that it's inaccurate and even untruthful in some cases. I bring up stuff no one's thought about a lot. I always try to find an angle that hasn't been discussed yet. If you're not afraid of having your points challenged, you'd have no problem writing "essays" detailing your rebuttal. You'd happily go on at length as to why I'm wrong. That's what people do when they're confident in their beliefs. That's why I always reply extensively. I want people to see that I have confidence in my convictions and know they can't be easily dismantled. I know that to sign off on a debate with "I can't be bothered talking to you" can be interpreted as "This conversation isn't going my way and I have nothing to respond with, so I'm ending it." That's why I always respond 9 times out of 10. If you are open to having your opinions challenged, why are you always backing down? I know you might like to believe that whites have the same culture all over the world but they really don't. Our local white stereotypes are very different from yours and we have very different opinions on various issues across the board. It's confusing to have an American get an image into their head of you as a stuck-up Cali girl who's rich, tanned and blonde in a minidress with a dog in a handbag when you're a Scottish Celt with red hair who lives in a poor postcode and has never caught a true break in life. I'm not "backing down," I just don't want to reply to you Our past conversations have ended nowhere and your replies don't make me challenge my views AT ALL. I've seen you debate extensively with other users and I know your line of thinking. It's stuff I've heard countless times and it's easily summed up. And wow at you thinking that's my image of you. "Whites have the same culture".... that is a stupid assumption. Insulting that you'd think that of me just because I'm American. My assumptions of you are solely on your statements whether they be good or bad.

My assumptions of you are solely on your statements whether they be good or bad. Not replying is backing down. Choosing to quote me just to say "I'm not replying to this" is definitely backing down. Our past conversations have certainly ended nowhere because you won't properly converse with me. It just ended in frustration for me because all my time spent writing out this stuff was wasted. It's funny that you say you know my line of thinking and have seen it all before and can easily sum it up. It's exactly the same stuff I say about your opinions. You have literally said nothing to me that I haven't already heard from my masochistic forays into countless SJW videos on YouTube. I know the terms, I know the lingo, I know all the arguments. They just repeat the same stuff over and over with no attempts to even put it down differently. I'm just saying, just in case that is the image you have of me. The idea of a racist white woman is quite different in American culture, the standard is different. I'm saying you're building an image of me that's based on American culture, not British culture. You've said before that your views are mostly American-centric, therefore, maybe you need to know more about a British person before accusing them of racism. If you met me in real life, you'd be surprised at how shy, quiet, chill and welcoming I am. So, it frustrates me that you're building an image of me that is just so far off-base. You're building an opinion of me based on very little. It's also based solely on anything I've ever said about race, usually when something bad has happened and everyone's emotional, at that. You don't take in my other posts. You also mysteriously miss all the times that I've supported minorities. I always say this stuff on the threads you never post in. How fitting. Meaning you only like to converse with people who mirror your views, creating an echo chamber. I find it very difficult to believe that you have great conversation with people of opposing views. It can't be racially related, that's all I know. It's funny, the first time I ever saw you, I was a Community Committee member and you were posting in my Albums Reviews thread, a place where I put forward a lot of rap and RnB for topics of discussion. You didn't seem to have a problem with me then. I care what people think of me on this site because reputation spreads. I know that you have friends on here who routinely dislike my posts, it's the same people every time such a discussion comes up. If more people are coming up with untrue perceptions of me, that's going to spread throughout the site. Before I know it, people who have lurked here for a long time and have just joined will already have an untrue perception of me before they've even got to know me. This forum is the one true outlet I have to speak my views in this world, it's the only place where I can get out my beliefs and have people remotely entertain them. No one in real life wants to talk about the stuff I do. I came here to make friends and find some level of acceptance and friendship, which I have precious little of in reality. I don't like to think that untrue stuff is being spread about me and potentially causing people to be nasty to me or not give me a chance to be friends with me. I'm not saying you're deliberately missing my posts on purpose, I'm saying that we only seem to run into one another when a controversial topic comes up, so you view me as someone who's highly emotional and maybe even aggressive. If you would venture into more neutral topics, you'd see other sides of me and get a more well-rounded idea of who I really am. I mean, when I found out you were Hispanic, I told you about my knowledge of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture because that's a side to me that I think you'd never see otherwise and is instrumental and giving you a more accurate depiction of who I really am. Who am I really? What's my upbringing? What are my hobbies? What have I done in my life? You don't know because you've never taken the time to get to know me and have based your perception of me completely on my most outspoken moments (and even then, I never swear or use slurs) so you can understand why I think your suggestion that I'm racist is laughable. Maybe you don't give much thought to the people around you much, but I do. And this is kinda the point - you need to know more about a person before accusing them of being a racist. Unless they've dropped the n-word or something, I don't make snap judgements. I like to examine people a bit deeper before I start coming up with serious accusations of racism.
