TimisaMonster 31,073
It's true...she's extremely childish and her show and music demonstrate that, so it's not surprising her demographic is middleschoolers Smart marketing as these need parental guidance and you could have an extra 1 or 2 guardians forced to go to the show Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Meredith Grey 3,157
I feel genuinely so bad for her. When you do something wrong a little bit of dragging is good. And hey, everyone gets dragged for their music because no matter what you put out someone isn't gonna like it. But for the past year it seemed like hating on Katy is the cool new thing to do. Like the girl has feelings and such. If anything we should respect Katy more for this era. Her music, visuals and personality are being dragged just like Gaga in 2013 (probably worse) but she's standing by the piece of work she made and that's not something I really thought she would be one to do. Good on Katy.

swordstalker 1,829
I haven't seen the show, but whatever it was, it can't be more childish and embarrassing than when she was fcking SKIPPING ROPE during the 2013 VMA's Roar performance I couldn't finish her segment because of second hand embarrassment
StrawberryBlond 14,881
Wow, I knew her shows were geared at kids but I didn't know it was this bad. Her mum telling the crowd there used to be a chocolate factory in Boston? Asking the crowd who had just got their first phone? I just don't understand how a woman who's nearly 33 years old thinks this is acceptable concert banter. I mean, if I were a famous singer now (at age 27) and most of my concert crowd were children/pre-teens with their parents, I would be highly concerned, I wouldn't like it at all, a huge image change would need to be in order. If it was still the same story by the time I was 33, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, I'd be pacing the floor asking myself: "Why don't people my own age want to hear my music?" But I don't think this bothers Katy. And that baffles me. An artist should want their audience to reflect them, they shouldn't just be happy with a crowd of little kids just because they can easily pull in money due to parents wanting to keep them happy. But she'll be lucky to hold onto this demographic with her next album. I think mid-thirties would definitely be pushing it for small children to maintain interest by this point.
