DiscoHeaven23 35,007
Welp, looks like the critics aren't liking Shania Twain's comeback album. It currently has a score of 53 on Metacritic with 7 reviews in. The Los Angeles Times gave the album a review of 60 saying: "the problem is Twain’s singing...the uptempo material, which feels flat and robotic, just as Twain’s performance at this year’s Stagecoach festival did. In her heyday, Twain sang with an exuberance to match her and Lange’s busy, vivid arrangements. But that attitude is sorely lacking from a party song like “More Fun,” in which her exhortation to “get a little crazy and forget what happens later” is about as convincing as an ad in an airline magazine." http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/la-et-ms-shania-twain-now-review-20170927-story.html All Music gave the album a 50 saying: "Now is melodically undernourished, with hooks never quite materializing in either the choruses or the excessively polished arrangements...[the] production feels as hesitant and inarticulate as the songs." http://www.allmusic.com/album/now-mw0003068413 Drowned in Sound was harsh and gave the album a 20, saying: "What was promised to be Twain's 'very, very pure' album is anything but. ... A terrible album." Sorry Shania We still love you though! Stream the album here: Source: http://www.metacritic.com/music/now/shania-twain

LordEnigma 11,313
I like Poor Me (I think.... I forgot what it was named) but the album is... bad. Especially compared to her older stuff. It's sad. Her past albums have been amazing!

Pop Music 20,540
I think the album is decent. My first memories were of sitting in my high chair and my mom bopping to shania's come on over album while making dinner. Shania was always my childhood queen and I pretty much knew her lyrics before I knew typical toddler vocab. I wish this album was a little more the woman in me era sounding but we can't always get what we want. I'm still excited to see her live next year tho. Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever! MAC 1,942
I like the album. I'm not in love with all of the songs but I don't think it's as bad as people are saying. Maybe she could have had others write her songs that would have been massive hits but I appreciate that she wrote this entire album on her own. I'm so happy that she is back and I enjoy the album

Stef 61,598
I was expecting this to be a total crock of **** based on these “critics” but then again, we, as Gaga fans are quite accustomed to overexaggarated critiques of an artists work so I should’ve known better. This album is exactly what I expected off Shania at this point in her career. She’s 52, she hasn’t put out a record in 15 years, this is as good as it was ever gonna get. And that’s not a bad thing, this album is packed with hooks and some genuinely gorgeous, heartfelt moments. Critics are so tired and mundane at this point. They literally mean NOTHING in 2017. Anyone expecting Come On Over 2.0 was deluding themselves to the highest point. Signature loading… 👹🖤

RochestrMonstr 3,216
It's still above 50 though. I'd say it's more "mixed" than overall "panned". I liked it. She's obviously not capable of doing what she once could vocally, but I think she did the best she could with what she had. I admire that she wrote it herself too. That's really brave for a first album after 15 years, especially when she co-wrote the previous ones with her husband. This album means a lot to her, and i'm really happy for her. I don't think anyone is expecting a 52 year old woman to come back after 15 years and skyrocket to the top of the billboard charts, this is just more of a personal success for Shania.
