AB is so jealous and angry that none of her songs cant go to number 1 and because of that she is attacking queen Cardi B for being first female rapper ti have number 1 solo song in years.....

someone really needs to take internet from AB....she does not how to use ti

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

her songs can't even chart because she likes to run her mouth instead of putting it into the art itself and letting her work speak. She should be a Youtuber, not a rapper, because at the end of the day, her negative opinions are all she has to offer the world.

And to really top it off, her music really isn't that catchy or revolutionary or even interesting. Not to the extents she tries to parade it as. Rhyming words real fast together doesn't qualify as a "flow", and on top of those noisy kitchen sink instrumentals she has going on most of the time? Miss me with it. :laughga: I much prefer Cardi and her down-to-earth real personality and catchy music compared to someone who can't even be happy for someone else.

I mean, I don't necessarily disagree that Nicki or Remi should have gotten one first (solely because Cardi B would not have any platform were it not for both of them, namely Nicki, giving female emcees a place in the current music climate), but it could have been said better. Seriously good for Cardi (though I didn't know who she was until yesterday; still, good for her!), but it's a shame that someone who busted the grind as much as Nicki did to get her acclaim and fame couldn't get there first. Oh well, I'm sure she can sleep well with a string of fantastic features and mountains of money lol

Bodak Yellow is such a horrible song and Cardi doesn't have anything special. She's just ok. I don't know why this song is #1. People are less demanding I see.

It's because it isn't too much or not enough. It's the right amount of rap that mass amounts of white people fetishizing rap can get into without being so steeped in it that it polarizes them. That's really it. It's a well-crafted rap song for mass appeal because the flow of it can be picked up even by those with no sense of time whatsoever (i.e. drunk af people). Good for her, it takes skill to do that even if it seems bland or banal. Making mass appeal records is hella difficult.

Its becoming hard to be an azealia stan. Tbf she did say she enjoyed the song but doesnt think it was number 1 worthy and thinks that cardi doesnt deserve it since she didnt write a lot of the song.

Either way i think there was no need for azealia to have said any of this but i do understand her frustration that a girl who has an ok to mediocre flow has a number 1 single when an artist like azealia who has a much better flow, range and better lyrics hasnt been as succesful

I do agree, however azealia could have been way more successful if she learned how to keep her mouth shut on certain things.

To start off, I just wanna say with all due respect and out of the door of friendly disagreement

I'd have to disagree with you. Nicki's success as a female emcee had alot to do with her Barbie image and her incorporating elements of pop (biggest genre at the time) with rap (second biggest genre at the time as well). Her appeal was no doubt gonna be massive. You had kids falling in love with her without even having to listen to her music. Her biggest hits were essentially 80% Pop (ex: Superbass, Starships). Nicki brought attention to female rappers yes but in no way or form has she shaped the general's public's liking towards an entire genre sung by the female sex. We had Missy and Kim slaying way before the glimpse of Nicki. While Nicki is extremely talented, one cannot deny her commercial push was by the hands of many A-listers being Wayne, Drake, Britney, Rihanna etc. So you taking about grind when her career success was sorta of a formula is honestly ironic. Cardi is honestly the one grinding, the girl came from nothing, had no one push her commercially, did not rely on pop tunes, did not rely on making a song about her butt, did not have a feature and for that she simply got a number one (at a time where it's way more competitive and hard to even break the top 10). I've seen how people react to the song. The song is honestly loved for the way it makes people feel good and super confident. Giving a simple vibe of "No one can mess with me or get in my way, I'm gonna be me whether you like it or not", a strong message that's needed in this offensive day and age. Nicki's songs have always made her come off as royalty, people lived through her songs where as with Cardi the listener is living with her.

OMFG this is the realist thing I think I've ever read on GGD. It's an inciteful truth. People truly forget that when Nicki came out she was made fun of and discredited as a rapper for her pop sound, especially during Roman Reloaded era.
