Katie14 4,828
I think pregnancy is going to be extremely difficult for her. When she gets a flare up, she wont' be able to get the intense pain killers (im assuming that's what she was given when she was taken to the hospital) that help her cope, because it could harm the baby. That´s terrible! So sad, in such a case if she gets pregnant I really hope she won´t be in too much pain. How does her illness affect the pregnancy? One can´t take the medication while being pregnant? Do people with Fibromyalgia have lower chance of having children? I am just curious if Gaga has had the disease all her life or just recently or the last 5 years? Sorry if I am asking too much just worried for her a lot. Modern Ecstasy2 2,202
It's really sad to think about, but I agree in that I would not be surprised if she has a difficult pregnancy because of how much pain she already experiences in her body on a daily basis. She is so strong though, and I have no doubt that her love for her baby will help her to get through it. “Delete this thread that person is not Gaga he is a hot blonde twink”

I wonder if flare ups are avoidable if you minimize any and all possible stress? If so she would need a long break with lots of rest. For the birth I could see her doctors recommending a c-section. She's had chronic pain issues since she was 19. Her rape was the initial trigger. Her hip issues, and probably the stress of her life in the past 10 year, made it worse though. Its really very sad and I feel terrible that she suffers so much.

AAAAAAlice 210
After finding out that Gaga has fibromyalgia, I made a quick research and found out something very interesting. The disease is caused/triggered by emotional trauma, anxiety, stress, etc. If affects women in a greater scale than men. But there is a way to "heal" the disease: a gluten-free diet. The explanation that I recall from bio classes is that wheat-based food turns into glucose, and for some reason it increases the intensity of pain. Gaga is from a italian family, so she must eat a great amount of wheat-based food, such like pasta, pizza, all kinds of breads, etc. If she cut this from her eating habits -or at least remove a big part of it- it would help her to don't have many crisis or even spend years without it, with no need to take heavy medicines, IVs and stuff. It's a matter of mere adaptation to a new life in order to live better and without pain. Here you can read more about this: http://www.womansday.com/health-fitness/nutrition/a56311/going-gluten-free-cured-fibromyalgia/ http://www.webmd.com/fibromyalgia/guide/fibromyalgia-causes https://www.painnewsnetwork.org/stories/2016/2/15/how-going-gluten-free-helps-with-fibromyalgia I've listening to Maroon 5 since I was 13. However, diets do not help everyone with these disorders. If eliminating certain foods could cure these debilitating disorders, everyone would be cured, like with celiacs, if they avoid gluten they are symptom free. Unfortunately its not that simply. Ziggy 11,853
Off-topic, but it seems like from this promo that it isn't so much that Gaga is playing up her pain and illnesses for promo, but rather that she and her team are aware that it is something people will take from the documentary and are jumping ahead of the press to control the message being put out as it's a very delicate one. I'm not saying that if she stoped eating gluten she would be cured, but as you pointed out, it would help A LOT. The crisis would have a larger break and when it happens, it wouldn't take too much. I've listening to Maroon 5 since I was 13.
