It reminds me of that famous picture of Evelyn Mchale

The lyrics are pretty cringeworthy but I like how she's doing a softer ballad, instead of the loud and theatrical types like Y&I and Speechless.

Also, the ending makes me really sad. Here is the part where she is essentially describing the young girl's dream of what her wedding will be like.

"I wish that I would go

in my rich boyfriend's limo

right after he proposed

with a sixteen carat stone wrapped in rose gold..."

Then, she describes what both the wedding and death were like for Diana. This is probably how Gaga views her own end. Hence, the performance of "Paparazzi" at the Video Music Awards.

"...with the paparazzi all swarming around

in my Louis Vuitton white button-down.

It's not that deep,

so bob your head for another dead blonde

whose real prince is in Heaven.

She just wants to sleep."

The very end of the song is when Gaga has made up her mind. Instead of running away from the tragedy that may befall her, she will choose to live with her fame, even if it means she will die in the same manner as Diana died. Actually, she is not even thinking hypothetically. She sees this as the inevitable end for her. She sings, "I'll be a Princess Di," not, "I may be a Princess Di."

"The final act of life will be in my own hands to do.

I'll be a Princess Di and die with you."

Tommy Monster

I was personally a bigger fan of Fame Monster era. But thats when I really got into her, so makes sense.

BTW Era to me was a little too much leather. Haha.

Exactly how I feel :haha: :)

The swimming pool = a metaphor for life in The Great Gatsby

Gatsby was rich, and was shot in his swimming pool which he never went in until he was shot.

Just saying :awesome:

apparently she said this:

Lady Gaga about the new album: "The next album isn't anything like Princess Die, and it's not sad and depressing. It's gonna be great!"

I love this song! It is so emotional and the meaning behind every word is so beautiful. I wish the new album was like this, but I woudln mind it not being like this, as long as we get some kind of official for this song. :excited2: Gosh. . . it literally gave me chill!!

She didn't write this recently, this exact song was mentioned in a magazine quite a while back. That magazine is how we got a lot of clues for the album theme, but it looks like this song isn't thematically related to THE NEXT ONE (so you can all hush with that Kill The Bitch, decay of the blonde icon stuff).

Speechless and Yoü and I are flawless.

There's nothing cringe-worthy about the lyrics. Some of you will literally hate on anything she does at this point. Can you just stop being a fan and go away? All you do is bring other people down who are trying to remain excited and are happy.

The song, for me, has nothing to do with Diana directly. Gaga simply uses Diana's death as a metaphor because she died at the hands of fame. To me, the song is about how the fame can turn you into something ugly and it makes you want to just end your life because you can no longer handle it.

Edit: I truly believe the lyrics will be, "I'll be your Princess DIE and die with you." It's a double-entendre. It sounds like Princess Di, Diana, when you say it out loud, but it's different written down.

This song is beautiful but I think the lyrics need a little improvement, for example the ryme go-limo is just but other than that, I LOVE IT!

Uh, there's nothing wrong with that. It's still a pop song.

It sure in the Hell beats her rhyming "me" with "me" in songs like "Monster".

EGOT2027

When was this song sang? Before or after or in replace of hair? Because Wikipedia says after hair but on this longer video I saw it looked like she just skipped over there after bad kids.
