The way things were going, some people might have started to think I was on the side of white supremacists and I didn't want my already sullied reputation in the eyes of some to be ruined even more than it already is. This topic's got completely out of hand and caught me off guard as I've started arguing over something I didn't even set out to do. A Muslim woman beats up a fellow Muslim woman in Germany and somehow this leads to a discussion about the Charlottesville protests in America. Only on GGD can that leap be taken.

Liberals aren't all the same, we actually do have labels for different things. 

You didn't have to label my thoughts. They are liberal/liberal leaning. That is a fact. I'm not ashamed of that fact. 

You CAN think for yourself and still label yourself. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. 

I used to be more independent in the past (a label) but now I consider myself liberal to the core. Despite finding my niche politically I don't agree with everything some liberals say.

Yes, you can think for yourself and still label yourself but so many people who label themselves, then live by the laws of that label, limiting themselves, so they don't betray the label and other people under that label. Liberals, as the title suggests, should be about freedom, free from the oppression that labelling brings. Also, when we label people, that's how we decide if they're the kind of person we'd talk to, listen to, etc. or someone we'd ignore, even bully. So, we don't take into account any good points they might make, doubt the validity of their experiences, think they're worthy of derision. No mind expansion, just echo chambers.

You behave in no way like an 'American Conservative'

I agree, there's no need to label thoughts. There are so many possibilities and reasons for having a thought that simply labeling it as a 'conservative' or 'liberal' belief is a bit naive. Also creates barriers and doesn't help build any bridges or connections.

just read this thread.. and why is everybody so aggressive and disrespectful towards that user.. you can present your ideas in a much nicer way but all you've shown is trash attitudes..

question: is it okay for muslims change their religion whenever they wanted to?? if so, then it's their choice and their free will.. (including covering themselves).. respect their culture,  they chose it..

as long as it doesnt affect other people in negative way then I don't see any issue..

The problem is that a lot of times it does  affect lots of people in a negative way. For example the person who I think you are talking about said that homosexuality is a challenge to be overcome and that they believe that women should cover themselves up. I guess you could argue that these aren't hurting someone else on their own but when these beliefs influence the laws of a country in order to oppress these people then it is a big problem.
