Directors had to write Trump a part to shoot movies in his buildings

Actor Matt Damon on Friday railed against President Trump’s “abhorrent” comments following the violence at a white supremacist rally in Virginia and told a behind-the-scenes story about filming movies at Trump Organization buildings.

“The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you had to write him in a part,” Damon said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “Martin Brest had to write something in 'Scent of a Woman' - and the whole crew was in on it. You have to waste an hour of your day with a bullshit shot: Donald Trump walks in and Al Pacino’s like, 'Hello, Mr. Trump!' - you had to call him by name - and then he exits.”

“You waste a little time so that you can get the permit, and then you can cut the scene out," Damon said. "But I guess in “Home Alone 2” they left it in.”

Damon, promoting his new movie, also said he was “very concerned with the state of things” in the U.S., and praised special counsel Robert Mueller for “defending” institutions against Trump’s attacks.

“Hopefully his investigation is going smoothly,” Damon said. “He can’t wrap things up soon enough, as far as I’m concerned.”

Damon also said Trump’s comments following the violence in Charlottesville were “absolutely abhorrent," according to Entertainment Weekly.

“To see these young, aggrieved, white boys walking with their torches and screaming ‘Jews will not replace us!’ It was just shocking,” Damon said. “Then the night that the president made his ‘many sides’ comment was absolutely abhorrent.”

Damon has criticized Trump in the past, and he donated to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.

Probably confused audiences when they saw a wrinkled orange appear randomaly in those movies

Oh yeah this is definitely bottom of the list for 'bad' things he's done. I just like to imagine the film crew rolling their eyes having to set everything up just for a 5 second shot they had no intention of using  (well except Home Alone)

That's honestly not bad. I mean, he could have charged them millions instead he just wants a part (which they can then delete). I don't get it.

No, it's not the worst thing he's done, but he's still wasting people's time and money. That said, why do they have to shoot at Trump's buildings? Can't they just find some other place?
