Is Gaga in creative crisis?

It's not called a "creative crisis".

It's called "not having a good creative team behind her".

But is it really authentic? Every song on Joanne sounds so uninspired. Sure she put her aunt's name on it, but that doesn't automatically make an album deep or authentic or any other word little monsters throw to praise the album.

By authentic I meant the process of creating the actual music. Joanne was made with 2 other people for the most part and they all sat down and jammed together with instruments and wrote the songs together, in comparison to redone throwing together a beat and gaga suggesting tweaks to it and singing her part and that being it.

Whether there's any true meaning in the lyrics the method of creating the album was a lot more authentic than her past works

There is no proof that the song is about Sonja :rip: People need to stop making **** up

Would you like me to give you an explanation as per why it is?

I agree. If she wants to be experimental with music, rock is her best bet. I would love it.

I wouldn't say we can know for sure until the next album is released.

I do agree that her first four albums had lyrics that were much more complex than anything on Joanne. She was always known for how weird, confusing and complex her lyrics were. Joanne is decent, but for me personally, I don't find any of it thought provoking in any way. And the lack of visuals don't help either.

But that's how it is with a lot of artists. You are going to have albums you like and albums you don't. It's natural and there's nothing wrong with it.

P.S.  The Cure (I love the song) is probably her least complex lyrics that she's had in an official release.

Yea I agree, as amazing and entertaining as the superbowl/coachella and JWT are, they don't bring any new ideas so much as they homage 09-11 Gaga. Lyrically, sonically, and visually, there is nothing groundbreaking or fresh or NEW about Gaga this era, it's all the same stuff we've seen. (Joanne album is obviously very different from any of her previous albums, but the sound is nothing new and lyrically there are no deep or thought provoking themes or ideas explored) She's killing it vocally and with older GP tho. I would love for her next album to be made working with unknown cutting edge producers, where upon first listen our ears are so confused by the brand new soundscape they can't even comprehend it at first! Reinvent the wheel baby! I am hoping all the confidence she is gaining through this very safe era, will inspire her to take more chances in the next era.

No she's just got a really weird and unique agreement with her label that lets her do basically what she wants, other popstars don't have that, they get in set album cycles and have to do set genres.

She wanted to make club music in the beginning stages of her career when she's young, she's now established and she clearly enjoys sitting down and making more authentic music whether people consider that a good thing or not

And The Cure shows she's still into making electronic music too

About the second paragraph, I dont get the whole "she's older now, she will make less dance/electro music, authentic" :oprah:

She always changes from era to era, so this time around she probably felt like spreading her ideas through less pop music, but God knows what's going on in her mind now and which direction will she choose next.

If she continues sth like Joanne or just keeps making jazz music i'd most likely burn my stan card because that's not music i previously liked and that music doesn't entertain me at all :nails:

(p.s. the song isn't about Sonja. It's an ASIB leftover)
