Yeah, it's amazing  But Valve probably won't do it now. Or maybe they already are, since  they closed his website

Yeh... just finished reading it and dammit

They could totally pull those visuals off today too... As to whether they started or not - I mean, they have - some preproduction work has leaked after all... I'm sure they've spent a good chunk of time and resources working on this, but I highly doubt they intend to actually finish it :toofunny:

Farewell, could-have-been sci-fi masterpiece, you will be missed...

Then again, I gave up on Beyond Good and Evil 2 a while ago and here we are :selena:

They allowed Black Mesa mod tho

yes because they were only remodeling the first Half-Life. This is a completely original story (without a game to accompany it) that a lot of fans would want to play.

A story that's out on the net though - if they based a game on it, they wouldn't be basing it on stolen material... Besides, I'm sure there were a lot of people who wanted to play Black Mesa mod, and it is purchasable...

well they can't use any of the names and characters from the half-life game if they decided to make a game based on that new story (marc changed the character names in his original letter). getting a greenlight from valve means the developers have the copyright to the names and the characters from the half-life game, so if a plan to create a half-life 2 ep 3 game happens without a greenlight from valve, those developers will have to completely change the names, the character models, almost everything but the "main" story.
