Yet he had to cancel the tour due to "stress"

he went through a breakdown and his wife two weeks before was robbed at gunpoint, who he then had to leave after a short time to continue the tour, that is stressful enough to send anyone over, don't be a ****. if it was gaga you wouldn't be so harsh. :what:

It's obviously a big bash at anyone who's annoyed her over the last year - Calvin, Kanye and Kim. Although which lines correspond to each person are a bit unclear and can be blurred and interchangeable. But that line: "I don't like your kingdom keys, they once belonged to me" has me genuinely stumped. Because the only and I mean only person this could possibly be about is Beyonce. After Taylor had an extended break, Beyonce came back in 2016 with Lemonade and the world went nuts, she got huge critical praise, she got great sales, huge interest in videos, a sold-out stadium tour and she was hotly tipped to win Album of the Year and was probably the runner up. The Beyhive is now in full-on smug mode and think she's the current queen of the music scene (and she is, no doubt). So, is Taylor suggesting that she's resentful of Beyonce's place at the top, as "queen" and therefore in charge of a "kingdom" because that position "once belonged to me" back in 2014/15? This is one of the most shocking lines Taylor's ever said because it makes a huge implication (at least to me) about the most popular female in music right now, a woman who most people are too afraid to come for. And what would Taylor have against Beyonce personally? And from what we've seen in the music video snippet, Taylor's standing in black with a row of motionless backing dancers behind her, bringing to mind images from Beyonce's Formation video and Beyonce in general.

Am I way off base or am I onto something?

It's an interesting thought but the follow-up line "asked me for a place to sleep, kicked me out and held a feast" kinda alludes more at a betrayal. Now Beyoncé and Taylor never seemed close enough for Beyoncé to have ever asked a favor or receive help from Taylor.

What Joseph Kahn is saying on twitter does make it seem like there was no intent for this video to look like Formation. No shade towards him, his videos look high budget and pretty but the imagery is never that original so I believe him.

But I guess we have to wait and see til the full thing.

Kimye ans Katy.  Receipts;

Kimye-tilted stage, reference to being made to look like a fool.

Katy-notice the song has an eerily similar beat/melody to the costume party scen from Mean Girls.  Katy called her Regina George.

Taylor is owning the new reputation, hence the album title.  I kinda love it.  Dont worry guys, her and Gaga got love for each other.

Yes, I realise that, but I think some lines are half/half - the first half for one person and the second half for another. Hence the line: "I don't like your little games, don't like your tilted stage..." is for Kanye, but the line finishes: "...the role you made me play, of the fool, no I don't like you" which could have been for Kim because she leaked the conversation. The entire line could be for Kanye but like I said before, some lines could be for multiple people and could be interspersed. Obviously, the "locked me out and threw a feast" is metaphorical for general betrayal. I considered that it could be for one of her squad members, perhaps someone who acted like she wanted to be her friend but just used Taylor's name to bolster their career and was never bothered enough to be her actual friend. But again, that half of the line could be for a different person from the first half. I really don't know what she's referring to when she means "kingdom keys" that once belonged to her. She never had a permanent residence with any of her exes and obviously they never won any of her houses in a separation settlement, so it can't be a reference to anyone who ever lived with her. So, I'm assuming it's metaphorical. And there's only one famous woman right now who people refer to as queen. And obviously, Taylor will be aware of Beyonce's big sales, influence and general power. She's the only female right now who could topple Taylor and challenge her for success. Maybe Taylor's resentful of that and how Beyonce's stepped in while she's been on a break?

Joseph Kahn's videos are certainly provocative so some shadiness in the imagery is a distinct possibility. But yeah, we'll just have to wait and see.
