Gaga: Five Foot Two

Thank the lord she isn't in creative control :tony:

Nothing to do with her or her talent, just as someone studying documentary who has made documentary and has studied the ethics and all of documentary - It's always better if the subject isn't involved, it usually makes the doco more personal and honest.

We all have egos, we all want to be seen a certain way, even if the director has good intentions and wants you to look good - it can get messy when the subject gets involved. It's better when the director just becomes a fly on the wall, something the subject begins not to even notice.

Even look at Beyonce's doco - it's cool and all, but her fingerprints are all over it and so we don't really get the insight we might want but instead a kind of PR campaign promoting her.

I don't know what to feel right now. Should I feel happy that a Gaga documentary is gonna be released or sad seeing her breakdown on camera?

does anyone remember how shook and confused we were when she dropped that first square/clip out of nowhere with 0 context or explanation? and now we're so close to getting the full picture :firega:

Probably not unless it's a cosmetic title - she could potentially get a producer credit for commissioning the documentary, for choosing the director and/or for financing it (or finding HBO to fund and distribute it) but she wouldn't be acting as a producer in the traditional sense.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but MTV said

"an hour-long film chronicling her pop return with last year's Joanne and this year's incredible Super Bowl halftime performance."

This breaks my heart. I've watched the trailer a bunch of times. I think Gaga is putting herself in a very vulnerable position, but people are finally gonna see the Gaga we know. We know she has hardships and we know how much work she puts into everything she does. I think the documentary will shed a new light on her that many people don't seem to think is there. The part where she cries about being alone at night...I wish I could hug her and tell her how her music helped me so many nights I spent alone. I can't wait to watch :kara:
