Marco 731
So a thirteen minute long video of paint drying would be epic? Just because it's long and a true story doesn't make it epic. Well, it's not a boring true story.
Michael 533
I can't at the professional director card. Err... if you didn't realize but Ã…kerlund is a **** film director and I've seen his films and they were critically panned. Same with Kahn. Lawrence is an average film-maker. Tarantino ever went to film school. The Haus of Gaga are ~professionals. Are you really stating Dada's work is of lesser quality, for example? :sam: Gaga's had enough experience. She does not need a "professional" because her art is fully realized when she has complete creative control. You only see problems when in actuality none are present. So true

Ok, but I meant experienced music video directors from outside the Haus. At least one video, I think it would be interesting to make something different from Gaga and her Haus's visions. I'm sure a lot of directors would do a great job with Gaga, without disrespecting her artistic visions. For example, I would love to see a David LaChapelle video. agree. though btw videos were made for fans, if really skilled directors made them, they would be a bit more successful. but may be this is gaga point... btw is very important for her, it's higly personal. may be that's why she decided to make them all by herself and her Haus. Yay! I like BTW era being this personal. Nobody in the industry nowadays has the guts to do that. Gaga is amazing. I was only saying that Haus/Gaga direction are not flawless, though I actually like their job a lot.

Experience doesn't always translate into better music videos. Nick Knight directed the 'Born This Way' video. But, the point is, we should care for Gaga's vision. Not anyone else's. Gaga's always been heavily involved in her music videos so she it's basically achieving the same thing and she certainly has "stops" in place so she doesn't go too far. I'm not totally against the idea and it's completely her decision. I think she and the Haus decided to direct all the videos this era because 'BTW' is so personal and it was for the fans. Next era will be different. Like any collaboration, it should benefit and contribute to her art.
Stephen 30,295
I think the shocking/epic parts for me are: BTW: When we see Skeleton Gaga for the 1st time Judas: The lipstick gun/Gaga being stoned TEOG: Y&I: When we first see Joe, When we first see Yuyi, when Jo & Gaga Kiss MTN: When she has her breakdown/When she bleaches her hair/When the cars start exploding/The satellite outfit at the end :legend:

VegasHoe 2
I liked the whole BTW era, fashion and music,... But there was ONE thing that wasn't as good as the previous era's: the Music Video's... (except Judas and a bit Marry The Night) And I know why they weren't as good as Paparazzi/Bad Romance/Telephone! Those video's didn't have an as great storyline and they missed the very important EPIC moment in the video, for example: - Gaga burns the man in the Bad Romance Video - Gaga and Bey poisoned the café and start dancing in amazing and iconic clothes in Telephone - Gaga kills her boyfriend in the Paparazzu Video These video's wouldn't be as good without these scenes... Yoü And I for example had great fashion, but there was no storyline in the video... What do you think? Discuss!!! Maybe its not the video clips....but the ****ty song choices themselves? Echo 326
Hmm. Just to be short, sweet and to the point. I was not here for how the videos went. Especially TEOG. I think her worst video. Judas, BTW, MTN were flawless. Y&I is in the middle.

I'm not her or her manager team, after all. BTW era is good the way it is. My point is that the videos were not so catchy like the pop music standard, so that was a problem for the general public, who didn't get it. But it was her decision, right? If she wanted to be the most mainstream+commercial artist with several #1's in the Hot 100, she could. But she has integrity. and i'm quite sure that it will be more commercial gaga wants her throne back I have these feelings too. I would love a huge commercial album. Gaga can do that without any harm to her artistic visions, she's so clever and talented. But if the next record continues her track to more experimental sounds, it would be nice too. I just want some good ****ing music and I really think it will be.
Lion Heart 15,041
Honestly, I loved all of her music videos that she released this era. I guess people just keep comparing the latest music video to Bad Romance to see if the said video "topped" it- which is pretty difficult to do anyways. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
Michael 533
tbh people will criticize this era's music videos but during the next era they will probably say "I miss the BTW era videos, her current ones aren't as good". It's because each era her music videos and music have been so different because she keeps evolving as an artist.
Antichrist 9,818
There's no rah-rah, pa-pa, eh-eh in this era that would be remarkable except Juda-Juda-as which :flop:

Pure Adrenaline 1,518
the problem is not in storyline or whaterver connected with it. the problem is in their appeal to public. her btw videos were not oriented to a usual person, they were oriented to her fans. her every video from btw has a special meaning to little monsters. every video from this era reveals sth referred to gaga's life and her personal experience. that's why they weren't as successful as bad romance/telephone, which were made only for commercial purposes. agree. though btw videos were made for fans, if really skilled directors made them, they would be a bit more successful. but may be this is gaga point... btw is very important for her, it's higly personal. may be that's why she decided to make them all by herself and her Haus. Yeah...as she said before dropping BTW: This album is not for the charts, I could easily make one and there is no doubt about it, I made this album for my fans." and when you open BTW CD you see THIS RECORD IS FOR U - there wasn't sentence like this in TF/M It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
