is AIFF the best one to use for iTunes?

Literally only will be listening to these off iTunes most likely.

Yes, AIFF is WAV equivalent for Apple

YOu can still play AIFF on WIndows, it's just that its the WAV format made by Apple.

iTunes, Windows Media Player, foobar among others can still play it

WAV and AIFF is the highest bitrate available. Mind the file size though, make sure you got space for that.

that would be 24 bit 44.1 khz which are the original masters or vinyl rips. but the format stays the same which is wave or flac. they are equal.

I found her entire discography in flac but it was the censored version  songs like sexxx dreams are pretty much unlistenable since half the lyrics are gone :emma:

I rip them in FLAC from CD, but the entire Gaga folder has grown to 5 GB and thats a bit too big for me to send around

But everyone needs to listen to this, your crappy 320 kb/s Spotify stream is nothing against a 1100 kb/s FLAC goodness :whitney:

Then ALAC (Apples version of FLAC) is the way to go.

And it doesn't matter if you play them on a Mac or Windows/Linux based PC, a soundcard is a soundcard

Also, iPhones (as far as I know) only seem to support ALAC instead of FLAC.
