display name 4,360
Now I'm just praying for some lurker to come upon this thread and by chance have the song. As a kind gesture, he or she will release it for us, and I will become complete. Even Britney Spears's version of the song has some power over me, and to hear it as recorded by Gaga would be everything to me.
Lady Palutena 3,142
I think that's really selfish of people when they hoard things away like that but as one of the users said if we make a fuss about it, they'll spite us and not release or leak, if you prefer, it. Trust me, if I had the money or connections to obtain a GaGa song that you all wanted I wouldn't hesitate to leak it and share it with all of you. Of course I'd have to find a way to do it without getting caught Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.
display name 4,360
As our final hour is nigh, let us pray and take solace in the fact that we have this small but sublime live performance of the greatest song that has ever been written. Amen fashion.

If you had the money to buy the song, then leaked it, who would sell to you again? If I was collecting thousands of dollars per song from multiple people, I wouldn't sell to someone who leaks because I would stop making money off said songs. The same works for trading, once you leak, no one will trade with you anymore because you're ruining their chances of getting other things. We are fortunate enough to have what we already have

We are fortunate enough to have what we already have But how hard would it be for any one of those people to leak it anonymously? If these songs have really been sold to multiple people, then it would be hard, for whoever is selling the songs, to know who, of those multiple people, is the one who leaked a specific song. The person would just have to create a free e-mail account in, like, two minutes, create an account on here, and post a link to download the song with an ambiguous file name. Whoever has sold the song cannot just cut off everyone who has bought the song because then his or her business would become even worse. He or she would just have to let that one song go, I think. I do think it is a matter of selfishness. I know people have been generous enough to leak things up to this point; however, they only leaked the songs and demos when they knew they would be given credit for it and when their sources gave them permission to do so. I have a lot of friends who trade, and I do know that some of the bigger sellers watermark and make individual copies of songs. For example, if you were sending me a snippet of something, you would cut me my own unique snippet. A certain part of the song, a little bit pitched, an added noise, etc would differentiate my snippet my snippet from snippets you sent everyone else. If MY snippet got leaked, or showed up on youtube, you probably wouldn't give me anything ever again, would you? Keep in mind big sellers like Burim are making $6-20k a song, he's going to take measures to protect his business. Sometimes its a matter of selfishness, I agree. Its hard for people to go out of their way and possibly get themselves into trouble to anonymously leak a song. If they're going to do it, they want the credit. If your "source" was your friend, you wouldn't want to mess with HIS sources, and make things hard for him, would you? I think its a sticky situation for some, but there are definitely just selfish people out there. I would love Quicksand more than anything, but I'm just really happy with what we have.

I didn't really think about that, but at the same time, there are so many discrepancies regarding the thought of the songs being watermarked. You're definitely right about the thought of screwing over one's friend though. I wouldn't want to ruin my friend's business, even if the business were illegal in the first place, so I can understand that. For me, nothing is as good as "Quicksand." I am certainly grateful to all of the traders for what we have, but nothing does anything for me as much as "Quicksand" did for me, when I first heard it, even Britney Spears's version. Quicksand was my favorite song off that album, even before I knew who Gaga was. Hopefully we'll get it someday!
