EW Gives Kesha's Rainbow an "A-", Calls it "Artistic Triumph"

Absolutely everything I heard has been stellar. Which is really something, coming from an artist many had written off as being a manufactured pop star who needed a producer to complete the package.

Clearly, this isn't the case, as she's doing better than ever without his involvement.

Good for her. Can't wait to see the show :sara:

No amount of mediocre attempts at shade will recover Kesha from her sonic downfall.

The singles were good. Boots and Boogie Feet are shadows of her former self, Finding You is okay, and the rest is pretty awful, especially for her standards.

why are u commenting if you dont like it gurl :poot:

Not here for the blasphemy in this thread against the masterpiece that is Rainbow.

A well deserved review!

Because I think the review is inaccurate and potentially biased because of Kesha's court case.

I kind of wish Kesha's Rainbow visuals/country inspiration was the Joanne aesthetic that Gaga would've started with.

This album is just amazing tbh. I've cried a few times, got up and danced around, cried while dancing, it's so great

I think it's a good album but the court case has definitely propelled the album I agree.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

And on what basis are you more qualified to pass judgement on an album than me?

I produce music, so following on from what Gaga said during her DWUW Twitter meltdown, I am actually more qualified to pass judgement than you. According to your fave. Suck on that hunty

I mean...did anyone think they'd give it a bad grade in light of everything surrounding it? :laughga: I probably won't listen to it since I heard the first two songs she released and it wasn't my thing, so I'm not judging it. I'm just saying, regardless of its artistic merits, I don't think it was going to get too harshly raked over the coals.

To reply to the first line of your response; Rainbow is outstanding, solid and overall amazing comeback album. (Can't say the same about Joanne) It's definitely not perfect and you may not like it but defining it mediocre or awful proves that you don't know so much about music as you like to think, sorry!

I don't understand what the rest is trying to say cause i don't spend all of my time on twitter to know that kind of slang or to remember every single thing gaga tweets bye!

Different strokes for different folks

My boyfriend likes both Woman and Praying and hates the other two released songs, the other two being my favorites of the four released :laughga: It's perfectly OK to dislike something someone else may identify with, we all don't share the same experience with art, but about the court case... naturally, it's shadow will be all over this album and its reviews. Songs like Praying and Learn to Let Go have another layer given the context of what she's been going through, of course - but strip that context away and apply your own, and the songs are no less powerful. I predict lukewarm reviews, after all, this is only one of many.

How is that a reply to the first line of my response? I asked how you're more qualified... You just stated your opinion and said that because I disagree with you, I'm wrong. What sort of tragic argument is that? :sharon:

That being said, you couldn't even understand the other three sentences of my post, so I shouldn't expect too much from you :rip:

Rainbow, as an album, lacks the melodic spark of her previous three projects. Lyrically, it's patchy. Production-wise, Bastards leaves a lot to be desired (the build is ill-paced), and most of the songs seem relatively dull.

it's not my fault you're unable to process information and connect the dots otherwise even you would have came to the conclusion that what basically my reply to the first line of your response says; your definition of the album is ****, you're condescending, you refuse to acknowledge what a powerful album Rainbow is with your attitude of patronizing superiority. so pretty much anyone is more qualified than you to pass judgement! :laughga:

And omg the way you claim to be more qualified than me over a twitter "meltdown" and that kinda stuff i don't even know about :rip: :rip: :rip: :rip: get a life

You know who's more qualified than your self entitled ass? http://www.metacritic.com/music/rainbow/kesha/critic-reviews Suck it up babe!
